Sounds like Boum may not be his 100% self

They're trying to play possum. Healthy or not, we should win this one.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

MU is winning tomorrow, and I am leaning towards a big win.

They are indeed playing possum, but doesn't matter.

Sean Jones has been AWESOME since returning from injury.  He and Stevie will give Boum major pressure whether he's 1% or 100% healthy.

I actually think the social media accounts are the best they have ever been.  Another outstanding video.

Again, it comes down to engagement. If they aren't getting the engagement, that's a place they should be working to improve. You can make the prettiest video in the world but if only diehards who are already engaged with the program are seeing it, you aren't doing the job of growing your fanbase.

Shaka subtly hinting to the students to have better chants

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vrls8bS4ZVU&pp=QAFIAQ%3D%3D

Thought he handled that well. While I'm not personally offended by them, I think the F U chants are somewhat cringey, embarrassing and unoriginal. I liked that he did it without sounding like he was scolding anyone.

I love the student section being on both ends in Fiserv. I'm surprised and think it is a missed opportunity to have some good chants back and forth between the two ends, even simple stuff like We Are....Marquette, De  Fense, or something far more creative than those. I think it would add some life to the arena.

How do you know that this is the case?  Do you know what audiences they are targeting with these videos?

As you know I am on old guy and still active on FB, but I think they have done a good job getting engagement on FB. The level of engagement this year over last year has grown a great deal. I have been critical on MU as whole over the years but give them a passing grade for promoting the program this year.

I do think the best barometer of the marketing is to see how the students respond. I think it was Shooter, but someone noted there was a buzz on campus. To me, they are a harder sell than anyone.

One last point, I stopped attending games years ago on regular basis because I had three kids in travel hockey and one in travel soccer. Forget the cost of that, it simply took all of our time. I think that plays into why some fans just cannot attend as much as they like to.

What happened to the big Marquette flag? The Fanatics passing out chant playbooks?  Students dressing up in unitards?  The LAX Bois with their antics?  The Boxer Boys?

The Wojo era killed some of the traditions I'm sure.  All it takes is 1 student or group of students to start a new tradition or bring some of the old ones back!

No crowds due to COVID had nothing to do with it, I am sure.

I remember some high energy NIT crowds at the AL during the Wojo era.

One of my favorite Wojo moments happened during the Covid years and I think all of us went crazy when Lewis made the last second tip against the Badgers. It is moments like that which make me love being on scoop. I pictured scoopers ranging 50 years in age all going crazy at home. Another great moment was the 5 point comeback at Creighton in the last two seconds. Great scoop moments.

The atmosphere at those NIT games was awesome. Could have easily gone either way.

Cops were definitely called on my party at the end of that game.

My advice that night was get drunk and get laid. Those are nights you do not forget, at least most of it.

Listening to Shaka is always enlightening. Such good perspective. Thought it was interesting that he mentioned he felt toward the back half of last year Kam was the team's best scorer but "some of the older guys" didn't understand or buy into recognizing Kam's scoring talent.

Porky's Butthole

If Porky wasn't departing for a long-planned overseas trip on Thursday that should have occurred 2+ years ago but didn't due to the pandemic, Porky would have absolutely taken a couple of days off to fly out for this game.

That is interesting, and not the first time he has taken gentle swipes at Lewis and Morsell. Of course, the coach has some control over that, too. "Some of the older guys" can't stop Kam from getting the basketball if they're on the bench. Just sayin'.

Great Tyler Kolek spotlight on FS1 right now. Hopefully we are able to view that somewhere.

I've been noticing that, as well. Kolek made mention in a podcast interview that the ball often stopped with Lewis and Morsell so that is why the offense is more free flowing this year. He was complimentary of them in other ways, but that stood out to me a bit as there seemed to be some frustration there.

Oh, you think he is saying, "F--- (Teamname)" isn't clever?

Personally, I think it's about as clever as chanting, "Public School" at the Madison kids.

The two most cringe chants ever.

We chanted "public school"? That's pathetic... and not just because I went to public HS and Grad School but just exactly why MU has the stereotype in WI it does...
