TAMU, Knower of Ball

Wrightsil was closer to a starter than people will likely ever realize. His injury was a real set back. I feel bad for him. Hopefully he can contribute in some capacity late in the season. Its gonna be tough because Gold will continue to improve and he will have plenty of rust.

I've always heard the same. I don't know that he was going to start but I think he was viewed as a guy who was going to get at least 18 minutes a game. Knee injuries can be killer.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

But now, even if healthy he would be #10.

S Jones, Ross, and Gold all ahead of him as well.

This^ Exactly why i said i don't think he'll play any significant minutes at Marquette.

I am not a doctor but I play one on Scoop. Pregame in Ft. Myers they were putting him through light 1:1 drills and I'd say he was about 60%. He is visibly walking with a limp due to inflammation. He is not scrimmaging nor is he even participating in pre-game team warm ups. Rest and treatment for now as TAMU and JayBee said with the hope he can get into playing shape over break.

Maybe Jimmy John's front of the house workers can provide a more thorough Scoop medical assessment?
Made me laugh; I really like this statement.

I underestimated how big of a factor Ross would be this year. I expected Wrightsil to give us a similar level of production that Ross is giving us now and vice versa.

If Wrightsil gets healthy and earns some minutes that can only be good for our team. I'm not really sure whose minutes he would get though currently.

I'd love a Trent Lockett type of role later on in the season.

Productive glue guy that does a bit of everything and has a lot of value with his hustle and defensive energy.

That's how I remember Trent at least

Great points.....when I saw CR early in the season I said ok...try him out see what he can do. Shaka is a best practice guys play. Which is awesome. I equate it to wrestle offs in HS.
May the best man win. If you bring it in practice...you play. Shaka isnt sending Jop in because we are down 10 points and need 3 quick 3s. Jop will play if he fucking defends.
I. Love. It.

I was wondering last night if he could redshirt being a 5th year senior. I think you may be right.

Yup. Name our player who did that.

The injury to Wrightsil gives Ross more opportunity, which in the long run might be better for us.

.

Disagree there, Ross is a guard, Wrightsil is totally an inside player. MU already playing 9 guys, not sure there is any room for him.

He could. While he played four years at Loyola New Orleans he got 20-21 back. However, since he played against LIU he has to be medically disqualified for the remainder of the season by a doctor.

Did Shaka offer Wrightsil before or after it was known he'd need knee surgery?

If true, it reminds me of this:

Ernest Eugene, walked into Williams' office, shut the door and said, "Did you know he has a glass eye?"

"What the (expletive) are you talking about?" Williams answered.

Cancel it....

NCAA bylaws would allow it to be cancelled immediately in that case. That said, do we have proof this happened?

If he "hid" it, shame on our recruiting team for not doing proper due diligence.

My estimate is the injury was disclosed but it may have been more severe than anyone expected, including Messrs. Wrightsil and Smart.

It's probably a risk we took that bit us where the sun don't shine. We're dealing with 21-year-old bodies and recovery can sometimes be unpredictable.

My hope is that by mid-season, Mr. Wrightsil is a part of our rotation and making a meaningful contribution. That may be asking quite a bit, but one can hope.

Should be easy to find a doctor to say that

Funny. What's the saying, never get a haircut by a barber who has the best haircut in the room. Does that apply to doctors and their physical condition as well?
