I'm liking LOTR so far also.

How many episodes is there going to be in Season 1?

I had actually have never seen the LoTR movies, so I'm holding off on watching the new series. I watched the first LoTR movie the weekend before last. I'll work through the movies in the next couple weeks or so, then I'm going to start the series.

How is this possible.

Doing a Sopranos rewatch for the first since it aired originally.

It truly is the greatest show ever, with apologies to The Wire.

Wild that the Sopranos holds up so much better than The Wire.

1.  No.

2.  I have friends that won't watch shows in 480p.  And I can't blame them, its super annoying.

Blackbird on Appletv.

Two powerhouse performances.

And holy sh it forget to risk of being in supermax with deranged monsters. The worst part would be the conversations that Jimmy has to have with Larry to gain his trust. So effed up.

Got Apple TV free for two months. I'm obviously starting with Ted Lasso. Besides that, what shows should I hit in the next two months?

Tehran (2 seasons so far)
Suspicion (limited series)
Slow Horses (1 season but there will be 4 seasons)
Black Bird (limited series)
Defending Jacob (limited series)
Surface (1 season so far)

Truth be Told (2 seasons)
Home Before Dark (multiple seasons)
Palmer (it's a movie)

The Nighy Of ....originally an HBO limited series. It's extra $ I think but it's good, and it's on there.

There are several other choices too.

House of the Dragon time jump was handled well.

The new actresses were vital for the upcoming cival war and both killing it right away.

Wife and I finished Ted Lasso last night. What an awesome show. I think this is the only time that I have watched a show with this much hype that I ended up thinking it lived up to or even exceeded its reputation. Really well done. My only critiques are that I wish there was just a scootch more football in the show and I could use a little more exploration of some of the character's backstories. Keeley and Roy are two of my favorite characters on right now and I've really enjoyed how they've handled Nate the Great's development.

Started Severance on my own a few days ago. Really enjoying it through three episodes. I can't recall a time that a TV show has made me just genuinely uncomfortable (in an exciting/engaging way) for the entirety of every episode. Would have never guessed that Ben Stiller had this level of darkness inside him. Also, I never cared for Adam Scott's style of comedy, but he's golden in this role.

Spartacus has more sex than The Sopranos. It has more violence than the Sopranos. It invents a whole new language. Lucy Lawless is almost as good as Edie Falco and John Hanna is as good as Vincent Curatola.
Granted Gandolfini is in a class by himself.

Dahmer

I watched a couple of the episodes; not sure if I will continue.

I don't think it is particularly well done.  For example, the actor playing Jeffrey Dahmer is trying really hard to affect a Milwaukee accent, but it switches between sounding like Bill Swerski and Bob/Doug McKenzie.
Have some patience, FFS.

I'm not sure if thats what he was going for.  Dahmer was born in MKE, but spent the majority of his life until his early 20s in Ohio.  Ive read Evan Peters, who plays Dahmer, studied him obsessively to try to get into character.  So he'd be more trying to mimic Dahmer himself than a generic Milwaukee accent.

The only time I have heard Jeffrey Dahmer speak, I don't recall him having a real accent of anykind; more of a generic midwestern accent.

I've heard  The Patient on Hulu is good and Domnhall Gleeson is outstanding.

Just finished season one of Sneaky Pete.

I liked it.

I randomly had this pop up today.  Listening to it makes Peters accident seem even more plausible.  No doubt it was part of his background accent work for the role.

I watched the first episode of Dahmer and think that is going to be it for me. I watch a lot of crime and bad guy programs, but the show creeped me more than I would have expected it to. I have enough stress in my life at the moment and getting creeped out by Dahmer 31 years after he first creeped me out is not high on my list.

I felt the same way.  Thought it was horrible.  My girlfriend kept watching so I heard enough to know what was going on.  I have no interest in paying attention to it.

Same here with Dahmer .. watched the first episode, didn't care to continue.

If I need a serial killer fix, I'll watch some Dexter.

Now some people want to put up a memorial to his victims at the site. It is not the families of his victims, must be people that watched the Netflix series.

Every Ryan Murphy show is terrible.

This is just American Horror Story - Dahmer.

Born in Milwaukee but raised in Ohio at age 6. His dad was a MU grad in Chemistry. Wikipedia is vague if he was also a researcher for MU or somewhere else.
