Will be interesting to see the mix of positions eliminated.  They said its due to pandemic overhiring, so I wonder how many pure WFH positions were created and how many will be eliminated.  Also, every Asian country Ive been to in the last 5-6 years has a giant Amazon office, so I wonder how much is simply being shifted.

Anyone else every deal with Amazon corporate HQ in Seattle?  One of the oddest cultures/ways of working I ever encountered.  I have nothing against the company and clearly it works, but I was in final round interviews there and couldn't decide leaving if I would be upset or not if they didn't offer me the position.  (They didn't, pretty sure I know why, but despite loving the idea of Seattle at the time, I think it was the best thing for me overall).

I've sold off the majority of my original NET (Cloudflare) position recently.

NET is up ~1200% since my initial purchase at IPO, and they're firmly riding this AI bubble. I still believe in them since they're 'selling shovels to the miners' but I felt it was time to decrease my position again and diversify internationally.

Taking profits is hard. I still have ~200 shares left, though, so I'll still participate in the future upside or downside.

This sounds like another "win" that entails us either giving up stuff, or returning to what was being done before, in exchange for China buying what they always did, but likely at a lower volume, because they've diversified already.

So they get what we need and we get part of what we used to have back.

Love these "winning" deals.

PS - Fiserv was a client when I was an intern back in college. One night I was working late (as usual) and my buddies drove in a major snowstorm from campus to pick me up in Brookfield at like 9pm. One of the scariest rides back to Campus Town.

FSLR hasn't been the "hot name" in the sector since the mid 2010s when it was a volatile beast, but its made a lot of people very well.  I know a friend of friend who was a low level factory manager, originally in Toledo but then later a corporate gig at HQ in AZ, that basically has compeltely funded his retirement on the generous options they spread across employees of all levels, most in the mid 50s 8-10 years ago, which are now basically 5x.  He's still young so he'll keep working but a wildly different set up and future compared to peers who had similar jobs at Owens

So what's wrong with Fiserv?

This is what I think, not what I know: They couldn't hit their bs growth numbers so they're going through a big layoff/correction.

They're not that wonderful as a processor and people hate their core banking software, but it's not like there's a killer alternative. People hate FIS too. Long term I bet Fiserv is fine?
