no rebuttal required. I stand by what the Harris campaign has stated on economics...and my opinion that Bidenomics has been an economic disaster.  Trump will win, thankfully, but Biden/Harris have been and Harris/Walz would be free market killers. Regarding illegal immigration...you are right, 10m is made up. It's probably closer to double that. btw, I own a home in Tucson...going on the market in Q1. Visit Tucson, Yuma, Nogales, Douglas, Sierra Vista...and quite frankly, on up the I-10 to Phx. and tell me illegal immigration isn't a disaster upon which this country may not recover if the border isn't closed and LEGAL immigration restored. What country of law & order allows ILLEGAL migration and the human trafficking, sex trafficking, drug trafficking, chaos, anarchy, death and destruction that comes with it? Why does Biden/Harris allow this? To change demographics, of course. Fortunately, America...other than the few of you on here...are waking up. 80+m of us have had enough of Laken Riley-type scenarios. btw, will be asking $700k for the house.

So you have no response on economics and can't articulate what Biden actually did that contributed to your made up immigration number. All you have are opinions that you are trying to pass off as fact.

Is it possible that who was president had nothing to little to do with inflation and immigration increases? Can you think of any other possible causes?

The border has been closed for most of the year. One could argue that Biden waited too long to take executive action, and that would be legitimate criticism IMHO.

But to ignore that the action has been taken ... and to ignore that your hero scuttled a Republican-written border bill that was endorsed overwhelmingly by the Border Patriol ... all while merely parroting your hero's evidence-free 10M number ... it shows you don't want to discuss this in good faith.

You also ignore significant data and expert opinion about how a second term for your hero would increase both inflation and the deficit, instead parroting dire warnings about silliness.

If your hero had the current economy, he - and you - would be calling it The Greatest Economy In The History Of Economies. Unfortunately, he instead lost millions of jobs and left behind an economy in tatters.

Any time you have actual facts to share - something beyond what your demented, lying hero screams at rallies or what Fox News pushes - please share it (though preferably not in the Investing Thread).

And speaking of investing ...

The Harris/Biden Stock Market hit yet another all-time high! (I obviously don't think the president or vice president has anything to do with the market, but You Know Who does, as long as it's going his way.)

At this point, the current economic expansion has been underway for 54 months, well short of the expansions that were seen starting in 1982, 1991, 2001, and 2009. ... The post-pandemic economic expansion has more room to run.

Biden didn't wait at all to take executive action. He did it pretty much immediately - not to close the border but rather to open it. That was followed by 3 years of disinformation assuring people that the border crisis that Biden created didn't exist. The only reason the Dems give a spit about the border now is the election.

Good! We need more people in this country. Hopefully we can create quicker pathways for citizenship versus having migrants here on assylum requests that drag on for years. Get them productive jobs, paying taxes, etc. It would be better for everyone.

That's an opinion you're entitled to but it would be an impossible position to take if you want a chance to win a national election.

Ahem, your economic Jesus kinda help start this multi decade migration.

"Since at least the eighties, when Ronald Reagan led a crackdown on unions, firms have become addicted to cheap undocumented labor. Blue-collar wages had, for decades, failed to keep up with inflation, though that trend started to shift in 2020."

"But the industry also faces a labor-force problem it cannot address quickly simply by raising pay. For two decades, the number of U.S.-born workers entering the construction trade has nosedived. Even if tomorrow all companies raised wages high enough to lure Texans away from their laptop jobs, it could take years of training to condition these newcomers to the rigors of building.

Cutting off the supply of undocumented workers, then, would be like cutting off the supply of concrete and lumber. Far fewer homes and businesses would be built in the next few decades. It would push up the prices paid by those who buy homes and office buildings. So an inviolable relationship has developed between new construction and migrants: If you build, they will come. "

So what you are saying is you would prefer the economy to crash and for all of our shortages to get significantly worse.

The Dems ae the only party working to solve the border problem.  In the recent past, the Dems have negotiated two comprehensive plans to address the border issue.  The Immigration Modernization Act of 2013 and the Bipartisan Border Deal of 2024 were both voted down by Reps and supported by Dems.  We all know about the most recent opposition by Reps to a bill that would have gone a long way to resolve the border crisis, but don't forget that they did the same thing in 2013:

The Gang of Eight was a bi-partisan group of eight United States Senators—four Democrats and four Republicans—who wrote the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013.  In June 2013, S. B. 744 passed the Senate with a strong majority—68–32, with 14 Republicans joining all Democrats. The United States House of Representatives under Speaker John Boehner did not act on the bill, however, and it expired at the end of the 113th Congress.

Tell me again who is working for the American people to update our outdated border policy.
