South Carolina's MiLaysia Fulwiley enters the portal.

A world of talent, and exciting too, but Staley had trouble getting her to play team ball. Despite her ability, aggressiveness and speed, which occasionally changed games in S.C.'s favor, Fulwiley couldn't even average 20 minutes of PT off Staley's bench. She was picked clean for two steals by Fudd in the national title game, and played horribly (as did almost everyone else on her team).

S.C. just signed Florida State gunner Ta'Niya Latson, so this makes sense.

Your post makes sense. Twenty minutes a game is not a lot , must be many negatives with her play. Not playing team ball explains that. Whose fault is that? Staley probably recruited her a long time ago, many coaches to talk to. I would assume her lack of playing team ball manifested in high school and club ball. Maybe Staley made an error in offering her a scholarship? Just a thought , I could be way off in my thoughts.

She's an extremely talented player who played a big role as a freshman in SC winning the 2024 title. But she often freelances and is mistake-prone, and it led to Staley keeping her on the bench a lot.

A fresh start probably will be good for her.

If an elite coach like Staley couldn't get her to play team ball and not free lance , do you think another coach can ? Hope Cara and staff stay clear of her . Cara seems to be able to recruit young women who  buy in to her philosophy of coaching. I really like the future of the team under Cara. The team seems to really like her resulting in  zero transfers so far.

The video of the AD telling the team that she won coach of the year and the reaction of the entire team speaks volumes to my point , Cara is a special person and coach !

Sure. Different coaches have different personalities and will therefore deal differently with various athletes. History is filled with Coach A working better with Player A than Coach B did.

I mean, look at the way Phil Jackson handled Rodman ... and Fulwiley isn't even in Rodman's galaxy when it comes to being difficult. Fulwiley was used to being her team's star but then arrived at an S.C. team filled with stars; not all that uncommon in big-time college sports.

FWIW, I don't think you have to worry about Fulwiley matriculating at Marquette.

Kitchen committed to Arizona and new coach Becky Burke.

Speaking of Arizona, they were unable to hire Lute Olson's goddaughter away from UNLV as HC. But they are hiring Olson's granddaughter as an assistant. Julie Brase-Hairgrove coached in the WNBA for 17 years.

Arizona State made some good staff hires as well.

Kitchen can really cook.

She dishes out great assists.

She can sink lots of shots, especially after knifing her way to the basket.

Has some great counter moves.

Someday she'll make bread playing basketball.

She can be a bit of a hot dog, thought Al would probably say it's "French pastry."

Not sure who she's replacing though as the coaching staff on the roster page still shows the same assistant coaches from the 24-25 season.

There are 15 players on the 25-26 roster:

Early 2026 bracketology prediction has MU dancing:

For Cracknell, the NCAA granted all former JUCOs a blanket waiver granting an extra year while the Pavia case gets sorted. (https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/43131557/ncaa-division-board-grants-waiver-former-juco-players-appealing-diego-pavia-injunction)

For Volker, I assume she's getting her 12 game season at Duke back. I'm unsure of the circumstances that led to her leaving Duke midseason, maybe there was something that led to a waiver?
