Toppling Goliath is a good but hype brewery. Their owner is a complete clown Azhat. I won't buy another beer from him because he treats his employees like sheet. His barrel aged beers are a hot mess that should be drain poured. Specially morning delight - gross. Plus, most of their beer is now made in JAX not IA. You should have heard what their brewing team had to say when that $--tstorm went down. That team hated that idea.

If you're in the Midwest get alarmist (best regular hazy ipa there is.. I'll fight you over that), eagle Park but they use a lot of lactose, Maplewood, old nation.. All way better than topling and you're not supporting a c.unt.

So things I don't get ...

All inclusive resorts
Religion
Suburbs
People who are scared of international travel
Straight edge
Comic book movies
College football
Pachuli
Vegetarians that aren't from s cultural perspective
Southwest Airlines

For those that hate / dont get bourbon - i feel for ya. You need to get yourself a good bourbon.

Thanks for the beer tips.

I almost said religion but I didn't want to hear from the peanut gallery ... so thanks for saying it first.

Agree with most of the rest of your list, but I begrudgingly like Southwest for free bags and more legroom, and I do understand the allure of suburbs to some. After 16 years in Chicago, we have lived in the next suburb over from Charlotte for 8 years now, and I very, very much miss the city. Almost talked my wife into moving close to uptown (what they call downtown here) but we probably won't be here for more than another 2-4 years, so I had to agree with her that it's silly to move now. Thankfully, our little downtown in this suburb has a great craft beer scene.

I would expect anyone under 50 to hate Dylan. His music was definitely of a certain era. The lyrics and music were inseparable. He was an innovator doing something no one had ever done before - to the extent that his own fans turned on him when he changed the original mold.

Also I will add one more thing I don't get.

Adam Sandler. Saw him on a rerun of SNL last night and was reminded that he has never said or done anything funny to me ever. Movies, standup, music. Nothing.

I find Midwest hazys to be overly dry hopped and too dank.  I like my juice bombs. I heard so much about M-43 from Old Nation (it saved the brewery) but wasn't a fan. Just my preference.

Bourbon is good but prefer a good single malt Scotch from the Highlands.

I never got folks who use "we" when discussing their favorite professional sports teams.

College, if you went there, sure. I do that sometimes, but not always.

And I realize that may be viewed as an odd distinction.

I get why you don't get this. Neverthless ...

If you're looking for an explanation, I have one word for you: Community.

Maybe not for all fans, but for many (including me), one big reason why I like being a fan is the "we're in this together" part of it.

I like going to Panthers games because I like being in the stands, cheering along with my fellow fans. I could see the game much better on TV at home, but I want to be part of the community.

When we don't go to games, Mrs. 82 and I often go to a local sports bar because we like being with like-minded people -- part of the community that's rooting on "our" Panthers.

BTW, my Panthers are gonna surprise a lot of people this year. If Cam stays healthy, we're going back to the Super Bowl!

Agreed.

The only team I ever have called "we" in all my life is Marquette. Got into a debate about it with a brother and basically said, "I am Marquette. I was graduated from Marquette. I buy the tickets. I go to the games. I watch them on TV and when they make the tournament, I go when I can."

Reminded him too I supported Marquette financially.

Anybody else... I don't think so.

I get it for national teams as well. But regular pro teams I don't understand it

The hoodie warmups NBA players wear.  You would think with all of the publicists and other "people" each of them have, one of them would point out how utterly stupid they look with the hoodie up.

Well, I explained it. Maybe you now don't get the explanation.

We are Marquette! (That, of course, is indisputable.)

I read your explanation and it still doesn't register well with me. I agree with the concept of community for fandom but we just disagree on the usage of "we"

I don't get people who are super into taking care of their lawns. I'm fine with mowing the lawn and all, but there are some people just really into taking care of the lawn/landscape and it just seems like a lot of work and annoying.

Ok, but all inclusive resorts... I can see why people don't get it if they haven't done them.  My wife was that way.  Then we went to one for a destination wedding of a friend.  Now we really enjoy going to them.  We still don't do them often, but every once in a while it's nice to have an absolutely stress-free trip in a beautiful destination where you don't have to worry about costs, trying to follow a schedule, etc.

I'm going to really blow some people's minds:  when my wife and I took the kids to Disney, we paid for the "Disney Dining Plan."  So, it was kind of like Disney (which a lot of people here don't get) coupled with an all-inclusive (ditto).  We're reaching Inception-level stuff here.

By the way, I loved it.  Disney actually has a lot of good food available, and we tried many of them out.  I enjoyed knowing that all the food was already covered, and everyone could just order what they wanted.
