I think the stones are very hit or miss. I actually have a playlist I made on Spotify called "Good Stones" It's 13 songs.

The band I really never "got" was Led Zeplin.

I like Zeplin, I think their music is at least differentiated but people definitely got too into the "narrative" element of them. Moody Blues with a full orchestra is much better at that

I tried it once, 25 years ago.   Awful.  So I put some sugar in it.  It was 3% less awful. 

So I put some more sugar in it, and it was 5% less awful.   Thinking about others I've seen, I dumped 4-5 more spoons of sugar in there and it was almost OK, but it was too much work.

Zeppelin to me is hit and miss. They are undoubtedly brilliant musicians, but their music can just be so heavy. Which of course is their style. If you watch some of their old stuff in concert, some of it is tiring, but some is absolutely incredible stuff. I could listen to a Jimmy Page solo all day long.

I didn't get Zeppelin at all either, but their music has aged well to me.  I enjoy them now which was not the case 30 years ago.  I'm intrigued a little more as I'm turning 50 and this book is my next read and they are mentioned as one of the 1969 changes.

We did it once when we were young, before kids.  Then took them some years later exactly as you describe.  Totally agree with the frequent repeat visitors thing.
