The original? Remake? European? Christmas? Vegas?

Since Hilltopper bumped the Fortnite thread I was reminded, I don't get Fortnite or any PvP focused FPS. I would much rather grind out single player campaigns on my own then listen to a bunch of tweens try to be cool on the internet

I'm not a big video game guy, but if I see a classic Galaga arcade game when out and about, chances are I will have the high score within a game or two.

It technically wouldn't be beer without any hops, you don't like beer at all or meant IPA type hop-bombs??

I can now only watch individual scenes from Animal House (can't even watch the parade anymore), same for my favorite movie ever, Pulp Fiction, seen it so many times now I just tune in to watch a scene or two if killing time. So many scenes stand up all their own in PF.

I was a huge Springsteen fan after seeing him at the Auditorium in '78 but admittedly he has released nothing I liked in years, perhaps nothing after Devils and Dust.

Concert sing-alongs! I hate concerts where the entire crowd sings along, usually this is the oldies bands that play a greatest hits setlist and everyone knows all the songs.

I really, really like U2 back in the day. Now I can't listen to them.  Every song sounds the same.

I do like peak Rolling Stones (roughly Beggar's Banquet through Exile on Main Street)   But they've come out with so much schlock and hung around so long that it has watered everything down.

The last two U2 albums have been great.  Two of their best.

I'm torn on the Beatles.  I did go through a small Beatles phase, but I'm decades removed from that.  But still...wow.  Not long ago, I saw a website rank every Beatles song.  It is absolutely astounding the number of hits -- many of which I really like, even if I never really listen to them any more.  Most bands are lucky to have more than a few.  Reading through the list, there are literally dozens.  It really is an amazing body of work.

On a related note, I really enjoyed Paul McCartney on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.  I was struck by the bit where they were greeting people on the street and people were telling him "my brother is named after you" and "we played your music at my father's funeral."  It's hard to imagine going through life hearing things like that on a daily (hourly?) basis.

Agree with the football dislike.

Got it. Was confused.

I don't disagree, if you're talking about the original. Christmas Vacation will always be a fav of mine.

Amen brother.  I can walk up to a Galaga game today, not played in a decade and rip off 50K points no problem.

I'm with you on Amy Schumer. She wasn't bad in her acting roles but I don't think her standup is particularly strong. Your comedian selection has a certain pattern though...

I'll go with actual vacation.  Like why do people willingly travel somewhere knowing they're going to get fleeced?  How shiitty does life have to be that you need to overpay for everything just so you can lie to yourself for a week about needing to relax?

Is it any surprise that some obscene %age of divorce filings occur within a month or two following a vacation.

This is a fun thread.

I love Neil Young, especially 70s era but he made a lot of great stuff much later, too.

Chevy Chase was hilarious on the old SNLs. I laughed a lot at Vacation. Pretty much everything else sucked.

Sarah Silverman is funny ... but I will admit that when we were in Vegas last time she had a show and we went to see it with great anticipation ... and she was no good. She was obviously trying out some new material and most of it was quite bad. She was so effen funny on The Aristocrats, although Gilbert Godfrey stole the show. Yes, Gilbert Effen Godfrey!

Oh and I don't get country music either. Sounds like something right out of my dog's howling.

And, yes, I grew up in Nashville. I went to school with the children of country music stars; lived around the corner from one of the pioneers of the form of music and I still hate it.

I don't get the Kardashians, legalized marijuana and Illinois' propensity to tax anything that moves. The Kardashians impress me as a bunch of spoiled brats who leveraged their Dad's OJ fame.
