Take 10 balls into a practice bunker and put them in a line.  Draw a line in the sand two inches behind the balls.  Take your stance.   Hit the line, not the balls.

Wait ... you mean I'm supposed to practice? You talkin' 'bout practice?

Seriously, thanks for the tip. I might play later this week, so I'll get there early and give it a shot.

Yep, my best bunker stretches were when I was purposefully dipping my back shoulder to make sure I got down and scooped.  My irons and wedges were crisp motions, bunker shots a bit more loopy.

Ya. I was taught to imagine a dollar bill under your ball lined up with your target. Try to hit the the whole bill out of the sand

And finish your swing.  Always accelerating.  Don't stop at the ball or leave your club in the sand

thorbjorn olesen just took one of the worst shots of his young life.  ranked #62 internationally, he may need a big breakfast ball.  good luck to the lad hoping he gets the help he needs

not sure if this has been mentioned, but netflix has a great documentary on youngsters in competitive golf.  it's called the "short game" featuring kids from around the world, ages 10-14 or so.  anna kournikovas little brother is in it and he is a riot.  hilariously spectacular and entertaining.  if you haven't seen it, whether you are a golfer or not.

weird how pga treats "slow play"  they talk about, warn about it, but never really do anything about it.  40 seconds?  my arse!  either they count different or it's 40 seconds in pig latin err something

https://www.cbssports.com/golf/news/bryson-dechambeau-infuriates-other-pga-tour-pros-with-slow-play-at-2019-northern-trust/

until they actually do something about it, it will not change.  i'm not really sure about a stroke penalty unless they actually put a shot clock out there.  and that's not going to happen.

what would a realistic approach be to this?

I receive 4 golf newsletters in my email-box, and 3 of them feature Tiger on the cover as they look ahead to the tournament at Medinah this weekend.

Even though he struggles to even make a cut these days, I don't blame them. In fact, the biggest surprise is that he wasn't on all 4. He's still the tour's biggest draw -- kind of like Michael as a Wizard.

Plus, it's the 20th anniversary of his epic showdown with Sergio in the PGA Championship at Medinah. That Sunday was one of the greatest sports dramas I ever attended.

The irony being that Bryson told Brooks' caddie that if Brooks had something to say to him, have Brooks say it to his face.

Going to Cog Hill this week, probably going to play 36, not sure what courses yet but probably not the Championship course. Anyone play there have any tips/suggestions on which two courses to play?

Turns out Bryson DeChambeau is exactly the type of guy you think somebody named Bryson DeChambeau that wears a driver cap would be.

unless there was more there, it doesn't appear as though brooks said anything other than slow play sucks.  he didn't direct it at anyone in particular.  sounds like BD is a little sensitive on the subject.  if i were BD, brooks would be the last one i'd want to tangle with.  he and rahm.  BD hasn't taken the time to figure out the amount of foot pounds brooks could generate with a right hook

I haven't played Cog for many years, but back when I did (in the aughts), I loved Ravines (#2). More "playable" than Dubs, but still a great test. Very underrated, as is the case of the Jemsek course up north (Pine Meadow in Mundelein).

Play the Ravines twice. 1 & 3 are “forgotten dog tracks” as told to me by a Marshall last year.

Cog Hill is becoming a sad tale for the aforementioned Jemsek family. Pine Meadow is severely underrated.

Bryson is on the slower side, but he’s definitely getting attacked here. JB Holmes, Justin Rose, Kevin Na and Spieth are slower.

Jordan avoids the criticism as he’s usually mic’d up and gives great insight.

Rees Jones ruined it in hopes for a US Open.

A foursome should finish in 3:47.    My 12 year old and I in a cart finished in 3:00 today.    I do love Tuesday morning tee times.

I went out by myself at noon one day last week because the guy I was supposed to golf with got hurt playing softball the night before. I played the front 9 in 1:12.

I caught the group in front of me at No. 10 and they let me play through; I then played 4 more holes in about a half-hour. No. 13 on that course finishes fairly close to the clubhouse and it was 94 degrees with about 75% humidity, so I called it a day.

Didn't score all that well, but I drove it straight most of the day -- so I didn't have to waste time looking for the golf ball -- and it was fun blazing through a round. Normally, on that course, it takes a 4-some at least 4 1/2 hours to play 18.
