Skip this Atlanta area establishment.

Waffle House waitress allegedly pulled gun on customer

That waffle house has a Michelin star.

I expect a gun to be pulled on me at a Waffle House

Valid point. But from the waitress is down on the list….but not too far down.

Has anyone been to London recently?  I see that if vaccinated you need only to have a negative test within 2 days.  But Ive heard the tests are expensive/not super simple and easy for foreigners.

Likely headed to Belgium later this month, trying to figure out if flying into and spending a couple of days in London is feasible or not.

As I reported this summer my wife had to spend $100 in Poland to get tested to return to the USA.  I have a friend who said similar after going to see family in Portugal.

Where were you going?

Also, what airline lets you drink onboard right now?  I thought that was suspended because of Covid.
Have some patience, FFS.

The few times Ive gotten complementary United upgrades during the pandemic, I got mini bottles without issue.

Flew United in September and drinks were offered to the entire flight.

Yep.

Actually, now that I think about it, I was given mini bottles in economy back in June as well heading to Denver

Drinking on plane

Pros: time goes by faster, gets you drunk quicker

Cons: extra jet lag, pee a bunch, overly expensive

I only do it on the way to bachelor parties, and weddings.

Just back from Belgium. Flemish area is under more constraints. Masks required inside in Wallonia. To return to the States you only need the less expensive antigen test. we passed on London because of rules at the time

Was on 2 today. No alcohol. Since I am going to a Marquette event, my liver sent a thank you to LUV for the calm before the storm.

It does, but I wasn't flying that route.  And it was a fraction of the price of the nonstop flight.

Does your new healthy lifestyle allow for 2 bags of the Southwest Chex mix?

United never stopped serving alcohol aboard their planes.

The reality however is that most of the wine is 10 buck chuck at any reputable wine store. I'm on a UA flight to MCO now and the food was inedible. The coach snack box was far superior to any prepared meals they are serving domestically.

The international service these days sucks. On our way back to ORD from Rome, we had our entire meal slapped down on our tray (literally) by a flight attendant more interested in gossiping about other flight attendants and the company than she was in serving the cabin. Couldn't believe they served ice cream with the appetizer but United does a lot of stupid things lately using Covid-19 as an excuse.

On the outbound, on a United/Lufthansa codeshare on LH metal, the service was not great but the people were caring and the menu mildly edible. About the same quality as a coach meal 30 years ago, or something in a frozen dinner in a Publix, but at least it was edible. The flight attendants, all German, were pleasant and precise. Also surprisingly friendly.

There is a lot of crap out there being thrown at people in the name of Covid-19. It's cost-cutting under a different banner.

Had the complete opposite experience on our United International flight in September. Service was excellent, there were a few good food options, and they were all prepared well.
