If demand really is this high any chance future rounds move to the MECCA or BC?

Even 7,000 would look bad in those venues.

$60 for a single ticket is a ridiculous asking price. No way are they getting anything close to that.
I wouldn’t be so sure. There is exactly currently one ticket on stubhub. Prolly could get $100 if it remains the only one for sale.

This will be the largest crowd ever to watch a game at The Al.  Test run for an arena at 6th and Michigan? ;)

I managed to snag a free ticket as a student.  I got an email this afternoon that students could get one free ticket (paid for by Wojo apparently).  First 500 students only.

Maybe they read all the posts on Scoop about how no one was going to show up for the game, and that even being in the NIT is a disgrace, and figured they should sell as many as they could while they had the opportunity.
The Alabama A&M game was  $40 lower and $20 upper. Didn't sell out. Marquette wanted a sell out on ESPN2.

In the defense of the ticket office, I'm sure they underestimated the interest in tickets.  Outside of the students, there appears to be about a core of 6,000 of us "die-hards" who attend about 80-90% of games.

The last NIT game drew about 4000K, too.

In terms of available venues, and any rent associated, I'm sure 4000 seats sold with no rent, is more profitable to 7000 with rent at the BC or Arena.  I just wish that allowed more of us to buy tickets.  Now, I need to work a little harder to get in.

It does seem the only mistake they made was in allowing 8 early on.  I have no problem with 'cheap' and I really don't have a problem with all the tickets being consumed by STH.  But when a significant number of STHs were shut out because high B&G point holders could buy more than their existing package by a significant amount, that's a bit of a miscalculation.  I suspect they will tweak for Round #2.

I can't imagine that someone who shells out 5 figures for season tickets every season is going to bother loading up on extra NIT tickets so that he can score a $50 profit on Stubhub. My guess is that those of you who blame that for the early sellout are wrong.

And if they bought a couple extra to take a grandkid or friend, more power to them. That's a pretty minor perk in my book. Why shouldn't a strong, consistent supporter be able to do that?

Do you believe Marquette has ever done anything wrong, incorrect or unfavorable?

Marquette sold out before tickets went on sale to the general public, when most, if not all said it had no chance to sell out. Bravo to the ticket office or scoop is out of touch with the rest of the fanbase.

.. Very odd, it was, and still is 6 maximum for me.  Wonder why it would be different per user?

Just be some kinda former season ticket holder of the game perk.  Or some $hit.
