Miami recognizing their Marquette South title.

"Obviously, the Marquette guys are my big brothers," said Crowder, in Heat uniform for the first time Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center. "I joked around with Pat [Thursday] on the phone. He said Marquette holds some weight here in Miami culture. So it feels right at home."

The top story on ESPN this morning is about Butler finally finding his fit in Miami Heat team culture.  It talks a lot about how after their experience together in Chicago, Dwyane Wade convinced Riley and Spoelstra that Butler was a great fit for their system and culture.

And yet...they fail to mention that Wade and Butler both went to MU and were already connected through that hoops alumni network.

As for me, I got my Bucks-Heat tix yesterday and I cant wait to see Jimmy, Jae, and Wes all on the court together!!

Amazing article. Shame they didn't mention MU connection, pretty obvious oversight. Hopefully that's all they talk about with Wade commentating on a long Heat playoff run. Meeting the Bucks in the ECF would be great for MU pub

Dwight Buycks has escaped China is. Is playing for Olympiacos in the top level EuroLeague. Good news for Buycks as he may be able to move back to the NBA from there.

Fantastic game from Juan in San Fran. 10-6-4 on 5-8 shooting in 24 min. Would love to see him continue to be productive and stick

If he keeps busting his ass on D, studies and learns their system and stays somewhat efficient with his opportunities, I think he's got a decent chance to stick next year as an end of bench guy.

I know they are depleted but he is getting more than just spot minutes.

Juan is working very hard and is a effective and disruptive defender. Delighted to see him making the most of his opportunity.

Juan is winning some people over in the bay.

Juan was already popular in the Bay which is the reason he was signed.  The Warriors are very connected to the community and to give one of their own a chance was a no-brainer.

Let me rephrase. Juan's performance on the court at the NBA level is winning some people over.

I wasn't disagreeing, sorry. My point was, even at Marquette or when he played in Mexico, Juan had a strong following in the Bay Area checking in on him.

Andrew Rowsey making the most of his G League opportunity. Shooting 50.4%  from NBA 3 point and 93.9%  from line. Averaging 21.06 per game.

Quote from the article: "I didn't have anything close to a good college career," he said.  Ouch. He didn't meet expectations, but I hope that is not his overriding feeling about his MU career. Those guys work awful hard for four years, it would be a shame if that is his take-away from those years. It is one short quote from the article and in the context of saying he didn't have any great options coming out in terms of interest, so I suspect and hope that is just an overly broad characterization of his play.

I took it to mean he didn't play well and thus his options were severely limited.  I don't think he was saying he didn't enjoy his time here or that it was a negative experience.
