Didn't we have a conversation about getting your shingles vaccination?

I recall people talking about it, and having reactions the next day, especially on the 2nd shot.

I had my 2nd shot a few days ago.  I got tired, but that was all.

I need to sign up for that. Getting second booster next week. Maybe I’ll double down.

Thanks!  I’ve made many friends in California through the years.  A lot of great people live there.  Ronald Reagan made it his home even after leaving the White House.

Love Southern California. I would never live anywhere else. The dope who was riffing on air quality is clueless. Has improved quite a bit over the years.  Fifth biggest economy in the world.

I personally have no problem if people are "leaving in droves" Unfortunately, the traffic is bad so not sure who actually left. Maybe the dude spewing BS gets his info from OAN.

79-i love southern cal as well.  i was born in san diego.  i have a nephew living in middle of LA.  visit him occasionally.  traffic sucks yes.  sad what has become of the once fine state.  btw, no idea what OAN is, but i may have to check it out now if you guys hate it

the air quality has improved immensely since the days of newspapers running front page pics of the smog over LA.  my point is for all the "hub bub" over "green" this and that, they still fail to meet the standards of many other regions who don't saddle it's citizens with all of the regulations

You do realize that without regulations, the smog in southern California would have gotten even worse. Thanks in great part to regulation, it's not as bad as it was.

I have a difficult time believing you don't know what OAN is, but OK.

There. No name-calling here, either.

Everybody 50+ absolutely should get the shingles vaccine. My dad had shingles and it was several weeks of pure hell for him. I sure never want to get it, so I've been vaccinated. And yes, it was no picnic for a day or so; felt like I had the flu. A small price to pay for not getting shingles.

ok 82, but many other areas have fewer if any of the same regulations as california sans smog or air quality issues.  understand that many of the air quality issues of one area are not necessarily caused by that specific area alone.

i don't even know what OAN stands for but i remember a band called OAR that was pretty good

California, especially the LA greater metro area, became one of America’s most populous areas quite rapidly. With that rapid growth came many polluting corporations. In addition, the entire area was built around car transportation, again major polluters.

As you probably know, Ronald Reagan was the governor who established the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to undertake a statewide effort to address widespread air pollution.

And thank goodness for that and other regulation, or else the region would have become borderline uninhabitable.

Instead, Reagan’s former state is one of the world’s largest economies and helps prop up many of America’s poorer states.

Fecal transplant is already being used for C-Diff, an intestinal bacterial infection that is often very hard to treat.  There are many strains that are antibiotic-resistant.

It basically works the same way as a bone marrow transplant.  Take stuff from a healthy person and let it take over the sick person's system.

Thank you for confirming that I did not make that up.   ::)

They try to get a donor that is a close family member (ideally someone who lives under the same roof), under the theory that one's flora profile would be similar.
