He's also been recreating the photo for years for his own profit.  He said he tried to reach the band but was put in touch with their lawyers and that's why he's suing.

Just an odd attention grab, IMO.
Wonder if his parents are alive because if photo is pornographic his parents are guilty of child abuse....

The lady on the Whipped Cream and Other Delights Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass Album cover, is very proud of that photo. She has a message for those boys, who salivated to the cover, now all grown-up: "Enjoy the view."

Judge orders parents to pay son over $30,000 for getting rid of his porn collection
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/08/27/porn-collection-parents-pay-son/5618952001/

"GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — A judge ordered a western Michigan couple to pay $30,441 to their son for getting rid of his pornography collection.

U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney's decision this week came eight months after David Werking, 43, won a lawsuit against his parents.

Maloney ruled in December that Werking's parents had no right to throw out their son's collection of films, magazines and other items. Werking had lived at their home in Grand Haven, Michigan for 10 months after a divorce before moving to Muncie, Indiana.

Werking previously estimated that his collection was worth $25,000, The Holland Sentinel reported. According to emails between Werking and his father, the collection included 1,605 individuals titles of DVDs and VHS tapes. "

Really too bad he didn't convert his VHS movies to digital, those are irreplaceable.

My favorite radio station plays Stacy's Mom at least twice a day. Wonder if they have some research on that song.

I will say that Fountains of Wayne was a criminally underrated band. Sadly, one of the two founders passed away due to COVID complications not too long ago. He also wrote the theme song to "That Thing You Do" which is one of the most addictive earworms in recent memory.

Totally agree.  All of their stuff is good.

I heard Fountains of Wayne for the first time in the mid-90s when I was in a Borders checking out CDs at a listening station. (Jeez ... OK Boomer! ... Can a guy say anything more Boomer than that?)

I read the description about how Radiation Vibe was a "perfect rock and roll song" and how clever Leave the Biker was, so I listened. Couldn't stop, listened to the whole thing right there, and then I bought it. It was my favorite CD for at least a month. Not long after, they came to the Metro (1996 or 1997 maybe?), so my wife and I went and we loved it.

Ended up seeing 'em a couple more times, once at Double Door and then again at the Metro, and I bought their first 3 albums, all very good. Stacy's Mom was on No. 3, Welcome Interstate Managers. By that time, they were pretty big. I remember the music video of Stacy's Mom being very popular.

Those are my favorite kinds of music-listening experiences -- talented newcomers who end up making it big. I had similar experiences with the likes of Ben Folds, Barenaked Ladies, the Proclaimers and the Refreshments.

That kinda stuff beats huge arena shows any day of the week IMHO.

As someone who once tried (and failed miserably) to play Everlong as a 12 year-old with a drum set, I'm sort of an expert here: she did great! Mad respect to her. She rocks

Also, very cool of the band to give her this experience.

She and Grohl have been going back and forth for a while. It's been fun to watch. Here's another example. And another.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of Nirvana or Foo Fighters, but I love Dave Grohl. He's pretty high on my "I'd love to grab a beer with..." list.
