Today is National Cheese Day.

What's your flavor?  For 2021, Sweet Fire Mango Jack is my jam.

My new fave is a snack food called Whisps, which are 100% cheese. They taste like the cheese that leaks out of your grilled cheese sandwich and cooks directly on the griddle.  They have an asiago monterey jack flavor that's [chef's kiss] .  Very low carbs as well, if that matters to you.

My usual go to is Carr Valley Penta Creme blue cheese. If you prefer something a little spicy, their Wildfire Blue is also excellent. I also highly recommend Clock Shadow Creamery cheese curds (made fresh Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday). If you want to splurge, Roth Grand Cru Surchoix is local and was named the best cheese in the world a few years ago. Phenomenal rich Gruyere that can be found at a few of the local shops.

Does any other country have as deplorable of a national representative in coagulated dairy form as American Cheese?  Or is it actually an uncanny representation of the US?

Maybe the US should just annex some better tasting cheese and re-brand it as American Cheese.  Might be a more fitting action given our history.

The Humpback was clearly amusing himself/herself and deciding how far and high the human should be launched.  They are highly, highly, ntelligent and have no qualms with our species.  Just an accident...like when we swallow a bug or step on an ant.

Pretty tasty too. Bread them in seasoned panko, then tartar, slice of cheese, served on a pretzel roll. Pairs well with merlot.
