The two-fisted slopper thing is awesome to remember ..

I'm curious .. this is from a bygone era (sort of) .. but do/did other stadiums have to make that kind of video/slogan?   Were Cubs, Yankees, Royals, Braves fans so drunken, they needed behavior reminders?

I'm guessing it's just a sad, drunk Wisconsin thing.

remember 10 cent beer night?  i was...ahem, too young to embibe, but that was one of those promos that didn't turn out well.  i don't think there really was a blood alcohol limit back then as long as you could recite the abs's and/or walk the line, point to your nose and grab your ass with both hands

Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park were full of fall down, lets get into a fight drunks in the 70s.  I remember a drunk guy at Yankee Stadium throwing bills off the upper deck to watch people fight for them below and laughing his a$$ off.  First Fenway game I took my wife to in the early 80s the guy next to us was so drunk he upchucked all over himself in the 6th inning or so.  We had to move away while they came and hosed the area down.  I thought I'd never get her to a game again.

Only recent experience that can compare was in Oakland a few years back.  A lot of two-fisted drinkers in line to get in the park, and fights and drunks galore during the game.  My wife and son were appalled while I was sitting back and thinking it was like old times.  I never see that at all any more, so Oakland really stood out.
They  had to cage in the fans in the outfield bleachers in Tiger Stadium back in the 70s. The drunks would throw batteries,  bottles , rocks, firecrackers etc at the opposing players.

It was literally like the scene in Blues Brothers at Bobs Country Bunker at a baseball stadium

Any Mon through Thu night, we could go to a bar that had either $1 pitchers or 25 cent taps.

Plus, by the time we were juniors, we knew the bartenders so well at our favorite places that we often drank for free all night. At Harp & Shamrock, Dan Fischer loved us (for our witty banter, no doubt). We'd put a $5 bill on the bar at 11 p.m. and walk out at 2 a.m. without spending a cent -- though we'd always leave him the fiver as a tip.

How the hell did we graduate in 4 years?

Rocky, has no one really "joined" scoop in like 5 months? The "Latest Member" thing on the home page has said PointWarrior for what feels like forever.

They need to add Stan Johnson as a moderator, the current staff clearly not getting it done on the recruiting front.

Hm, just looked, and that seems accurate.  Maybe I need to make sure the registration page is actually working!

Edit: just tried to register a new account, and it gave database error...guess I need to get to work.

Maybe Chico's just been stockpiling screennames this whole time waiting for this very moment to put them up for sale on the secondary market.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Serious thanks for the heads up.  I hadn't paid any attention, and nobody had complained.  Prepare for the rush of new users complaining about Wojo now...

I took the boys to see Ford v. Ferrari last night .. excellent movie.

Probably should show them another great racing movie.

Days of Thunder or Talladega Nights?

Days of Thunder is trash.

Rush by Ron Howard is centered around Formula 1 and has some good racing action.  But also a few crashes that are graphic.
Also quite a bit of rough language.

I took my 9 & 12 year old nephews to Ford v. Ferrari which was a bit hit with them.  I wouldn't recommend Rush for that age group.

So, Glow and I closed on a house in Wisconsin this weekend, and when I was searching online for nearby bars, this popped up:
