Gonna pick up Panera quick before the game begins... crowd-sourcing -- should I roll with the french onion soup or chicken & wild rice? Super on the fence here.

Then again I may change my mind and go through Freddy's drive-thru... really don't want to put on clothes for my 8 seconds in Panera.

So????

So????

You were first, so I went with the Chix Wild Rice (bowl!.. with a half sandwich). Good night for it.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Ain’t your Panera’s clothing optional yet?   8 seconds could seem like a long long time though 🙈

The closest I've ever come was 2014/15 in Sydney when I waited for hours in line at 9 am to get into Mrs Macquerie's (sp) chair where I had the privilege of sharing 8 port a potties with thousands of people, burning like hell in the summer sun. The fireworks off the harbor bridge and parade of boats were amazing. The drunk zombie shuffle to the metro was not. I imagine NYC is 10x worse, and I'm getting too old for that crap.

I've done NYE in NYC three (3) times, but all were in the mid/early 90's.
I don't know if it has changed, but the NYPD starts corralling people in the street with the portable barricades fanning out from Times Square.  They keep the sidewalks open.  If you leave the barricaded area they will not let you back in.  There are no port-o-potties and the bathrooms at every restaurant or business in Manhattan are all suddenly signed as Out of Order.

I can't think of anything that is a "thing" that I'd less want to do than spend New Year's Eve at Times Square.  It sounds absolutely miserable to me.  Honestly, I'm not sure how much someone would have to pay me to get me to do it, but it would be a fairly significant amount.

Well I can say I did all my drinking on the Metro North train ride down and the entire evening was a lot of fun.  It was a packed train ride back to Connecticut.  Ten (10) minutes after the ball drops everyone is in a mad rush back to Grand Central.

Can someone explain why New Year's Eve/Day is even a thing?  It seems like a very arbitrary date with no significance other than the purported "clean slate" with which people inevitably spend the next 365.25 days mucking it up as bad as before.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

No significance?!? It's Father Time's retirement and Baby New Year's Birthday.

I was taught the celebration of New Years was the circumscision of and the occasion on which Jesus was officially named.  Even though it was 8 days after his birth, it was celebrated on January 1

Watching the game .. saw the Golden Corral commercial.

Never been .. looks like the closest is near the MKE airport.

Better than Ponderosa?

Discuss.
