Still looking for recommendations on a cheap, small indoor drone to mess with the cat.

I can't believe I'm the first person to think of this...on Scoop of all places.

Laser pointer will drive the cat crazy.  Tons of fun for 3 dollars.

Much better idea than the drone.

Get a tiny RC helicopter. Menards, of all places, has/had them. They are about three inches long. Perfect

Got a laser pointer. Fun, but was looking for a new level. I think I’ll try the RC ‘copter.

I grew up with dogs, but my wife convinced me to try a cat because they're low maintenance. And I gotta admit, it's nice to leave for a week without needing to do anything except leaving a clean litter box and lots of food and water. No kennel/dog sitter/dog walker.

When I need a little doggy time, there are always the golden labs next door. And I don't have to clean the poop.

This.  I've had two cats over 20 years .. we've left home 150 times over that stretch, gone for a few nights, 7-10 days.   Never had to figure out what to do with the cat.   Food, water, litter.

Pets=more trouble than they are worth.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

It is the quality that also makes them the inferior pet.  If the don't need you when you're gone, they sure don't need you when you are there.

I have never been a cat person.  I don't particularly dislike them (and interestingly, even skittish cats seem to like me), but I've never had any interest in having one.  This low maintenance thing, however, is the one thing that has caused me to think about it from time to time.  Having to make arrangements for our dogs when we travel is a huge pain in the ass.

But, I strongly suspect that when our current dog dies, we'll go pet-less.  That achieves the same basic result, without the need to actually...you know...have a cat.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

So, a couple Scoopers and I were talking last night.

Who?  You, Chicos and Hoopaloop?  Was AbeLives not available?
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

a place where internet is included in the rent is nice, but I really wanted a place that had a nacho cheese machine included in rent.

Disappointed the meat (cheese?) of this post was ignored.

Free gigabit fiber > nacho cheese.

i was told the same thing about cats until...
we had 1 dog, a saint bernard named spanky, and 3 cats-darla, buckwheat and ralph.  all got along fine until the older female-darla, decided to use our upstairs bedrooms as her pee litter box. the kids had already moved out and at college, so we weren't upstairs as much and didn't realize she was pissing all over the place up there.  after getting rid of her-we took her to haws-tore up all the carpet and the sub floor needed 2 coats of kilz to cover the God-awful cat piss smell and put wood floor over.  cats may appear to be low maintenance in the beginning, but it will catch up to you.

never had that problem with spanky.  as a matter of fact i made him his own litter box outside and trained him to only go in that
don't...don't don't don't don't

Agree to disagree.

And it's a nacho cheese *machine*.  Not just for chips, but whatever you need cheese on right effing now.

Do you require one that has the built-in chip warmer?
