For multiple reasons :
1) What does he know on Hagans? Legitimate shot?
2) Back us off the ledge about the current team?  Need some uplifting insider perspective!

1. Forget those old offers, pay attention to who gets involved now. But I'd expect any high major needing a PG at least inquires.

2. My pitch would be a) playing time, and b) being surrounded by great shooters. Really play up Markus lead the nation in 3pt pct as a frosh and Sam is leading or near the top this year. Ashton will have either wide open driving lanes to score or great shooters to pass to and rack up assists. Plus, Brett Nelson can help Ashton improve his shooting. Turn a weakness into a strength.

3) He's a Georgia kid that was committed to Georgia so there is a decent chance he watched at least one of our games.  If he has, then he is at least familiar with our style of play.  The game last year is a great example so hopefully Ashton saw it.

Can't forget old offers, if Fox and staff stay at Georgia, they are still the ones to beat.  At least Wojo is giving it a try, probably uphill battle.

Could be... Though it seems fishy to decommit before the coach is fired.

Fun fact,  Mark Fox is the longest tenured coach at a high major program without a single tournament streak. He's in year 9 IIRC and only has two non consecutive 10 seeds to his name. If you're impatient with Wojo, imagine how Georgia fans feel... Well... How they'd feel if they actually cared about basketball

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I know these are hype vids and whatnot, but good distributor, plays hard through contact and appears to have an improved shot (doesn't need to be a shoot first guy...would rather have him slash and distribute).

I do love a good mixtape but I but zero stock into them after this year.

There was a high school game I saw this season where a kid scored like 12 points and had a ton of turnovers but by his game highlight video, you woulda thought he put up 30 points and 10 assists.

Whoa whoa whoa. Everyone slow down. I have a question.

What if we chase Hagans all over the place and he doesn't commit until say june? (Granted summer session starts earlier).

That would put a HUGEMONGUS dent in our chances at a grad transfer PG right? (Because many will have committed elsewhere already?)

I trust the coaching staff to know where they stand with recruits.

He won't sit around until June.  He will announce before the April 11 signing date.

Agreed this is most likely. There will be plenty of grad transfers available at this point. Plus I'm sure the staff can handle recruiting more than one player at a time. We might end up with a bird in the hands situation

I'd say the chances he goes to Georgia are close to zero.

Somewhat premature, but is Hagans considered a one and done?  How would his potential commitment affect our chances with DJ Carton?  Only asking because if he is one and done in 19-20 we'll have a very complete team minus a PG unless we get Carton.

I highly doubt we'll shy away from grad transfers if Hagans hasn't made his decision.

You have to think the former top ranked PG in the 2019 class believes he will go pro immediately.

Agree, but since he's reclassifying, he would be young for an incoming Freshman, would he even be old enough to declare after one year?  Similar situation to this one year that we had a really good 17 year old kid on the team, and everyone started a # about him going to the association until they realized that he can't play D.

We had someone on the team who was 17?  Who knew?

Here we go again. The kid is from Georgia and will have many high majors going after him. He was looking looking at schools in the SE during his original recruitment, why would that change? He's not coming to Milwaukee.

I believe you only get a limited number of in home visits, and MU is one of them. So while we probably aren't the favorite, he is at least interested in what the staff has to say. That's a start.

Probably not, but at least the staff is showing the effort and fortitude.

Good question.  I couldn't easily find his birthday when googling, but I didn't look that hard.  Probably 50/50 chance.

Are there limits on in-home visits?  I don't think so as long as its legal under the recruiting calendar.

Furthermore I have not heard it was in home.  I thought they were visiting him at the school.

They really have a good story to tell right now, maybe the best ever.  Just maybe, the kid might by into it.  Home visits are great, but you have to get him up here
to visit.  I am sure Wojo's power points are strong.  Does anybody know do they show a video to a recruit on a visit?
