Jesus Christ, can we just get back to MUBB recruiting?  My God this site is fucking unbearable so often.

Big Daddy, GA, anyone else willing to share more thoughts on QG?  I appreciate updates and "done deal"'s like anyone but can you stop being cryptic GA and just tell us what you've heard?

Exactly this...you can't drop nuggets like that and then not expound on them. If you have LEGIT info, spill it..otherwise, it's a well played troll job.

RSCI pulls them all in to avoid cherry picking one or two outliers.  Of course the challenge in using RSCI or any rating system is it is somewhat dependent on how strong the recruits of that year are.  The 5th best recruit in 2011 might be slotted as 20th in 2015, but benefits from a weaker class.

Markus was not an elite recruit in the same way as Henry, which was my comment.  I don't think the comparison to Hauser holds either. Grimes is a 5 star recruit, Markus was not.   I love Markus, kid is a stud, but would not put them on the same level of Grimes, Hauser, Hank which was the point I was attempting to articulate.  MU landing that level of recruit away from top programs that don't have Wisconsin ties (Hauser / Hank) has usually meant we finish close, but no cigar.  No shame in that.  I certainly hope Mr. Grimes lands here. It would be the rare exception.

When Howard reclassified the pundits honestly didn't know where to put him and just dropped him wherever. He was also essentially "playing up a year" and being compared against kids a year bigger, stronger, and more experienced than he was. He was at least a top 40 recruit in his own year and is definitely comparable to Hauser. Just below but still below Grimes. And significantly below Henry IMHO.

Honestly, anyone who has actually heard anything of substance shouldn't post it here. Details sure, like if they know a projected announcement date or something are fine, but if Grimes actually commits, I wouldn't want to see someone preempt the announcement. These kids work hard for their moment and have earned the right to announce their decision on their terms. I think cryptic messages and haikus are about the best we should hope for.

I disagree.  I don't think anyone here would know for sure but I find cryptic messages much more annoying than helpful.  I'd rather they not be posted at all if there's nothing substantive to add.

At least when Big Daddy posts there's substance.

+1000 The cryptic message's crap are the worst..if that's the best you can do(to protect sources or whatever), then don't post them at all...they don't tell us anything.

QG and his family have handled his recruitment with very professionally.  They've done exactly what they said they would do and they've been very careful not to "leak" information indicating that he is leaning one way or the other.  I don't think QG has decided yet.  I think that based on what they've done to this point he'll make a decision and then within a few hours inform all 4 schools so it doesn't leak.  Therefore any person including any writer who claims to know DOESN'T.  The only thing we can do is get a sense of how the people close to the process feel about our chances.  I don't think that Wojo would have mentioned being hopefully about getting a commitment from a young man in Houston at the Coaches Lunch earlier if he hadn't felt that he had a pretty good shoot at QG.  Wojo is too careful about everything he says in public to make a statement like that otherwise.  That said even Wojo doesn't know for sure.
I expect QG will announce soon, before the Fall signing period begins Nov 8th.  They said they would make a decision within a couple weeks of the final visit and again they've done everything they said they would.  From a practical standpoint if QG wants to go to KU or UK and have some degree of control over who else they take going forward he needs to decide soon to avoid them making other commitments.  If he wants to go to MU or Texas why wait beyond Nov 8th.  So it makes sense to make a decision and get this thing behind him.  But until he decides no one will know and when he decides I believe it will be announced very soon thereafter.

They played at Rice's gym down in Houston so it was a neutral site. Probably a 30 minute drive for young Mr. Grimes coming in from the Woodlands.

Harmon (2019) announcing on November 3. We made his final 5, but he has not visited MU (has visited his other 4 finalists).

Wow, that's really early. Can't say that gives me good feelings, between the early decision and no visit. Best hope might be a decommit in a year or so, Herro style. Oh well...hope the staff has done enough, he would be a huge get, and even bigger under the circumstance.

Man, if we get him that would be the oddest recruitment. No expectations here. Why include us in a Final 5 if you aren't going to visit and are ready to commit?

The peculiarity of this gives me an odd, hopeful feeling while at the same time presenting itself as the longest of long shots.   Agreed, no expectations but the likely outcome could be a double downer.  Weren't Harmon and Wilson (Jalen) rumored to be a package deal or am I imagining that?

My peeps heard that QG loved Leon's Frozen Custard so much that he won't go to school anywhere but Milwaukee. And then, if anybody other than the Bucks draft him, he'll sit out until there's a trade!

Has happened before it seems... https://twitter.com/qmillertime/status/22309922306 , that one came out after his initial list which was sort of funny. Like, yeah coach told me to put these guys on my list too...

Seems like it's a favor to AAU coach or someone we've become friendly with.

Don't have a good feeling about these Texas boys.  No information, things just seem to have gone silent on Grimes and other teams' staffs seem to be visiting almost daily (I think I saw somewhere that a UK assistant was back visiting Grimes) and I haven't heard of anything since Grimes left Milwaukee (though Zag's blog was very positive).  Can't see how Harmon comes without having visited MU, unless he's pals with another guy from his home state that committed to Marquette without visiting and is now playing for the Timberwolves.

I am assuming the reason we haven't flown our entire staff to see Grimes this week is because he was just in Milwaukee with the staff for three days this past weekend. I would be very surprised if we don't fly down there one more time before he commits.

Agreed. Just don't feel it. Again I have no information on this one so I'm hoping my gut is wrong.
