Golden Avalanche

The pity party taking place makes for fun reading but there's no point to it. Grimes has made up his mind.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Nothing like a post from Goose and Big Daddy to flip the script. Good stuff.

Gonzaga comes to mind

Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Nova off the top of my head......Izzo doesn't get them every year.....neither does Michigan......

Listen I don't mind getting them but if you swing and miss it isn't the end of the world. Ben Simmons did nothing for LSU.....Newman did nothing for Miss. State.......Stone didn't lead Maryland deep into the tourney.

If Grimes wants to come great...''happy to have him.......if he doesn't I'll cheer just as hard for Sam, Markus, Joey and Theo.

Butler under Stevens as well. Back to back national championship appearances. The second one with just Shelvin Mac and Matt Howard.

Can I press a little further here and have you expand on this some?

And Wichita St. of late

5 stars definitely increase your odds of competing for a national championship though, especially when you add them to a stacked veteran team that complements their talents and pair them with other high-level frosh, as would be the case here.

Really hope we can land him. Impressed with Wojo & staff's effort and approach on this one.

Thanks, Big Daddy.  With the quick turnaround to negative opinions and rationalizations, I had to check quick to see if I was in Buckyville!
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

My understanding is that our guys did a very good job presenting the case that we have a family oriented culture and that MU is a special place with real history. BTW, Todd does a great job on these recruiting visits, as he is a very good sales person for the program. If the parents are heavily influencing/making the decision, I think our chances are higher, as they truly understand what we are bringing to the table. If the kid is making the decision, I think our chances are less as kids  are prone to flights of blue blood fancy. Also his relationships with our players are just not as deep as they are with Texas. He fully understands that he will get the keys to the car on day 1 here, which still might be enough to get him over the goal line, although Texas is making that same pitch.

Nonetheless, I think we have made a good investment in recruiting this young man. Puts us in a better neighborhood and you never know what can come down the road in future years.

Article with quotes from Matt Scott (KU insider), Jerry Meyer, and Darrian Slater. Scott says KU is the "runaway favorite" for Grimes....but then later says all TU, UK, and MU are all a legitimate threat. Jerry Meyer says KU is the favorite but be wary of MU. Slater says TU has made up a lot of ground.

TBH.....I'm not sure any of the three know anything.

A young man is soon to make a very personal and important decision in consultation with his family.  Whatever way he goes, he'll believe it's the correct decision for his future.  Let's make sure we respect that. Go Marquette.

How many freaking scholarships does KU think they are going to have for next year??

Agreed.  Even if QG goes elsewhere, don't act like a butt hurt badger fan

I can't remember the last time I was rooting this hard for a kid to choose MU because I really think he could be a game changer. But even if he decides to go elsewhere I'll be rooting for this young man. He and his family have gone through the recruiting process carefully and with class - we need to remember that.

Absolutely this...I will be disappointed simply for the fact that MU will have lost out on a chance to possibly become elite again(and that's depressing), but I would never be mad at QG. he's been class all the way
