I hope QG commits soon, with him on the roster assuming no one leaves for the draft we are a legit contender

Kansas' Bill Self took his whole staff to see 5-star guard Quentin Grimes at his school. Grimes took his final official this past weekend.

Nice of him to eliminate Kansas in person.

The timing is very strange...I mean the kid just got back..Maybe Self thinks he's going elsewhere and this was a last ditch effort?? Or maybe he's trying to explain to Quentin why he will be in to see Herro this week.  :)

Not strange.....MU did the same thing when he got back from his Texas visit.

Now that all the visits are done this is what you do for a kid that is your top remaining priority.

Best of luck to the young man where ever he chooses to go.

I'm not sure KU can say he's their top remaining priority though, as they are still recruiting Zion Williamson, Romeo Langford and of course Tyler Herro. IDK how Kansas spins that.

Probably a similar way we're sprinning it without having scholarships left for next year

Need some Herro love on here boys from everyone. This can happen. Grimes is off the table I heard. So we can all refocus here now. MU with Wojo at the helm presents way more NBA opportunities then UW with Gard bottom line. UK has more NBA players but that really does not have anything to do with Cal developing them, its just the gathering of NBA talent out of high school. Wojo can teach him little things and how to be tough nose player. Tyler and Joey would be unstoppable. I have heard nothing about any renewed MU interest which disappoints me.
The problem is Herro loves himself too much. This is about MU winning and building a cohesive team.

Herro is a back up plan...he isn't going to decide until after Grimes does......they would take a commitment from Grimes right now so clearly he is the top priority among guards.......Williamson plays a different position so not a factor.

Showing up full staff a day after he gets back speaks loudly to how big a priority he is for them.

Make no mistake about it.......if MU wins this battle they will have earned it....if they don't they did all they could.

Hope Wojo & assistants get a chance to make a final visit as well.

Sure, they can say that...but they didn't hesitate to take Dotson's commit, did they??

Tyler Herro gives me an Austin Grandstaff vibe.  I feel he's destined to be a college basketball vagabond.

TommyMU

I personally don't want a Badger de-commit.  Herro is looking for a school to get him to NBA as soon as possible.  It could be a money pull for family reasons backing out of WI but that is just a guess as I see a lot of speculation about him.  I'm still not seeing how this kid is even D1 star ready though.  I'll have to watch more Whitnall games this year but even there I think I could look good against that competition.  And I quit BB years ago.

For the final time, I just want someone so I don't have to look to my left at last year's SOTG and see somebody like Fischer.

This doesn't convince me that we're in the lead, but it does lead me to believe that Grimes is down to us and Kansas. Self wouldn't be waiting on Grimes' doorstep when he gets home unless he legitimately believes we are a threat to land his commitment. We'll see how it plays out, but I do think it's either Kansas or Marquette.

I think that is solid logic......no doubt he will verbal to Kentucky or Texas now.....:)

He is and he isn't. He is their top priority for the fall signing period. Zion Williamson is their top priority for the class of 2018.

This. The entire Kansas staff showing up shows both that Grimes is a priority for KU and that KU legitimately feels threatened by MU.

The funny thing about this that when I was snooping on the KU board for any insight, one of their posters talked about how desperate and sad it was that Marquette was bringing their entire coaching staff to see one recruit....wonder what that poster is saying now.

Grimes also just went on a retweeting spree of all the accounts that wrote that the KU staff is visiting him. On one hand this makes me feel like KU is afraid of us, on the other, much more depressing hand, it kind of feels like the visit that Dotson had before committing a few weeks ago.
