Kansas landed a commitment from a 2018 top 50 big man. Likely no impact on their pursuit of Grimes but assuming everyone is back on scholarship next season, that leaves them with only one schollie left to give. Obviously they can oversign (which is what we are trying to do) but my assumption is that they would only oversign by 1. With Kansas all in on Zion Williamson, there might only be one scholarship for a guard. Just one more reason to hope Dotson (or another guard) ends up at KU relatively soon.

Remember that all schollys are 'annual' and that we've had outbound transfers every year for as far back as I can remember at the moment.  No worries.

It's pretty easy for us to say that sitting behind our keyboards. Unless this was brought up during the recruitment or offered by the family, I don't see it being a very likely scenario.

Unlikely. We can carry an extra commitment all the way through next season. Someone is likely to transfer on their own. Not anyone specific mind you, but with around 850 transfers this last season at the D1 level we are talking an average of 2 transfers per team.

I don't like it because I want this kid in my state, but I've got coaches saying Romeo to Kansas is almost done. IU in it, but still... KU.

Romeo Langford is the number 5 kid in the nation and plays, you guessed it, combo guard.

Gregg Doyel is an Indiana basketball insider. Langford was a heavy Louisville lean with Indiana and Kansas in the running. Looks like the scandal made his decision easier.

If he commits to KU before Grimes' visit, I think it might be time to fire up the bunker.


EDIT: Missed that Langford set an official visit to KU today. Not going to be in Lawrence until October 28th, after Grimes complete all of his visits. Overall it is still good news.

It said "Kentucky official this weekend!" which is exactly he said a week ago for TU "Texas official this weekend!"

I hope no one tells him that Wisconsin has seven NCAA major violations on its record, good for a tie for 5th most among member institutions. Its peers include Auburn, Florida State, Memphis and West Virginia.

That happened quicker than I expected. My guess is that we will stay away unless Grimes goes elsewhere.
