The guy I thought of when I saw Hauser play was Tom Kleinschmidt. Kleinschmidt was a better driver, but the styles and court awareness are similar. And, Joey doesn't suffer from Tom's biggest weakness - being 6'4.

If Hauser comes to MU and has a Kleinschmidt career, we will all be happy campers

He's done a hell of a job coaching preps in Illinois. Both at York and Gordon Tech.

New Rivals rankings.  Hauser I believe took bit of a hit in rankings.

As of today:  Rivals: #43
                   ESPN:  #49
                   Scout:  #18

First thing I noticed in this video. That Morrow kid is huge. Would not want to stand between him and a rebound.

Is that Morrow in the post up drill right before Matty?

...and some people think that he's going to scare Joey Hauser away from coming to Marquette.  Because their games are oh so similar.  :o

Wojo should be putting it in his head that if the Badgers are in his ear about questioning where he'll fit in with Morrow, Frolling, Heldt, Eke, and John then 1) they don't think he's very good at the style of play he's playing at in high school/AAU and 2) they plan to plant him in the post and turn him into a second chance opportunity guy.  If that's the style he wants to play good luck at UW.  If he wants to use the versatility that makes him so good then he should come and play for a coach who is going to utilize those skills at Marquette.

TedBaxter

Wojo should only discuss where he fits with Marquette and not worry about other programs.

From my understanding, they've done a very good job recruiting Joey and just keep doing what your doing.  Quite a few positives and no need to bring in any negatives.

Yep. I'd throw out the idea to Joey of a 1-2-3 lineup, at times, of Markus-Sam-Joey. "You guys are the skill guys, we got brutes on the blocks"

He can try to rebound Herro's misses, or he can catch Markus' drive and dishes.

Glad to hear from big daddy and freeport for reassuring words.  Quite amazing that Herro is that good but didnt have duke or kentucky calling

Duke and Kentucky both realized that they wouldn't get anywhere once Herro came in and destroyed the confidence of all their other recruits.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Ive never seen Herro play, so I looked him up for the first time today and he is an absolute twig. I thought he was 12 years old, like he looks younger than Diener did when he was a Freshman and that's saying something.

He will get destroyed by some of those bigger B1G guards.

This post gave me deja vu about posts a long time ago from Murph about a guy named Travis Diener.

Just because he can't be guarded doesn't mean he makes the unguarded shots ;D

This exact thought is the main reason I don't think Evan Flood knows what he's talking about. Having several post players already inked no matta. Joey can play on the wing or be good enough to compete with the post players for time there. I think that versatility will really help with the sale.

The idea of shooters like Howard and Hauser with rebounders like Morrow, John, Heldt, and Froling gives me the chills. We'd rarely miss....and when we did....we'd get the rebound half the time!

Another reason it's really dumb to think MU scared Joey off by recruiting a bunch of bigs (beyond the fact that he can play both on the wing and in the post) is that the class of 2018 is incredibly thin at the center position, so if you're steering clear of bigs in hopes that it impresses Joey you may wind up with Joey playing the 5 for you and I don't think that'll be where he's best at.

CheesyMUfan4ever

I think Joey is gone boys. Gard pulled it off. This loss almost hurts as much as losing Herro. Flood knows his stuff.

Stan is down hanging with Khavon Moore today (I assume given his GA location). Says it's gonna be a big July for us! (I assume he's trying to play mind games with us and allude to the fact that we will get a big in July).
