This feels like a very Harry situation
I'm done worrying.   I am just Froling with it.

Was told on good authority that people around Gard at Wbby tournament had to be told to settle down. We're giving him hard time cause Herro was getting schooled by McCabe.Gard was getting red in the face.Herro  having tough time  creating  shot

Wojo moving on Greg Elliott looking better and better.

Higgy taking a chance on McCabe looking better.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Freeport said that McCabe was nowhere near guarding Herro.  From his reports on McCabe, I don't think he was a miss by MU.

Fred Garvin

Nope, two guys that won't  play ball beyond high school were guarding Herro .Herro was on McCabe at times though.Buried a three in the corner in front of Gard with Herro in his face.I'm  not saying MU missed out on Mccabe.Just found it funny, people giving Gard a hard time

I posted this is another thread, but figured I'd add it here.  Assuming we nab Froling today, we'll have two scholarships left for next year.

I think one should go to Greg Elliot - a guy who hopefully understands that he isn't going to see much PT year one, but is willing to work hard in practice and develop.

The 2nd should be held for a HIGH IMPACT grad transfer.  A wing that can fill it up, or another front court option.

That gives us three scholarships in 2018 (Rowsey, Duane, and GRAD TRANSFER) - one for Joey, one for a stud PG (Watson, Ramey or Dosunmo), and one for best player available.

I think this is a pretty darn good position to be in.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

One in 2018 already going to Bailey.

Apart from the noted error, your logic is sound.  One thought might be to begin an era of the 'Frosh/Soph redshirt'. Have the 13th man (let's say Elliot or Ike for grins) matriculate but be pprepared to sit one of his underclassman years.

Nice. Good for then. Anyone know when ESPN updates their top 100? Wonder if those two will make it.

I've been thinking about this too. I think my priorities are:

1. Defensive Stopper Grad Transfer - Could be a wing or a PF but I think next year's team needs that JFB type lock down defender.
2. Rebounding Grad Transfer - If we can't find a defensive stopper I think the "garbage man" type forward is the second biggest gap. Would love a player who was both.
3. Transfer PG who is a freshman - Looking to the future my biggest concern is the heir to Markus Howard. If we can a find a freshman PG who had a stellar season but is looking for greener grass, I'd take him in heartbeat. Some possible names: Daquan Bracey (Louisiana Tech) Stevie Jordan (Rider), Michael Weathers (Miami-OH) Jordan Bohannon (Iowa), Jaylen Fisher (TCU), Preston Parks (The Citadel). No idea if any of them want to transfer but they are good looking freshmen points.
4. Project/later bloomer. Greg Elliott is definitely the front runner for this spot. May become higher priority if he continues his trajectory.
5. Bank it. We are in on some BIG fish in 2018. Can't hurt to have another schollie.

Mr. Sand-Knit

If we can get froling , i wouldnt mind seeing ike redshirt.  We would be solid near the basket n maybe he doesnt even need it but ike could get another year of hoops under his belt.  It would give us a junior, soph, and freshman big along with ike redshirt n finally for the first time since oneil have the pipeling filled at the 4/5.

Pretty much any hs player going to college is nominated.  Nominated means "your coach submitted paperwork on your behalf."

I think there are usually about 250-300 nominees. It's a pretty cool accomplishment but also not exactly a select group of HS basketball stars.

Thanks.  I didn't know exactly where the cut off was.  But I know there have been several MU recruits that have been nominees throughout the years and Henry was the only one to have a legit shot at getting McD AA status.  Maybe Dominic James had an outside shot.  Markus Howard would've had a shot if was still in HS.  That's it.

Since Froling won't be eligible first semester, I'm not sure I'd redshirt Eke.  Maybe soph year a la Sacar Anim and Amal McCaskill.  Or if MU lands a grad transfer PF, then I would.  Don't think Heldt and John are enough big men, even for just 10 games.

Agreed.  A grad transfer is effectively banking the schollie for 18 anyway, so I tend to lean that way.

Made a quick tweak.  TWO available scholarships now.  Elliott and a grad transfer?

That certainly seems like the plan at this point. I doubt we will see any developments until after the season though. A traditional transfer could become an option.

Instead of another Frosh. Yep.
