Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

Not surprising.

Looking like it may be neither.  Ya know, I am OK with it.  Give me Epperson next spring, or a grad transfer.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Dang, I liked French as a consolation prize

I looked up French's EYBL stats.  38% FT 0/2 3FG.  A good rebounder at at 7+ per game but hard to get excited about a 6-7 player that can't shoot.

With only one spot left, I think Wojo gets more selective.  Epperson, Nwora, grad transfer, regular transfer, late bloomer, coaching carousel market, or an extra spot in 2018.

So, we cooled on French, hey?

I liked French, period.  I wasn't nearly as optimistic about Stockard.  I hope we don't start wring our hands over missing on him.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

We weren't looking at French for outside shooting.  IMO, rebounding, rim defense and inside scoring are what MU needs from the 4.  Otherwise, don't bother looking at bigs just really work on that four guard offense.

I prefer a 4 that do all that and shoot the 3.  Think Jae Crowder and Lazar Hayward.  With Sam Hauser's added size I think he can fit that bill, too.  Hauser will pair nicely with Cain, Bailey, and hopefully his brother Joey.

Not that I wouldn't take a traditional PF.  Would have loved to landed Xavier Tillman.  But even if Tillman had committed, I saw him splitting time between the 4 in a big lineup and the 5 in a small lineup.  Plus, I see John and Eke providing rebounding and interior defense.  Not sure French gives us anything different, except being more experienced than Eke.  If MU didn't have those commits or if French had more of a perimeter game I'd be all over him.

If French commits to MU, great; Wojo would get a rebounder.  If not, I won't be too upset.  I'm optimistic Wojo can get as good or better than French.

I was hoping for Tillman and/or French. Epperson would do fine or a tall grad transfer. STILL WANT
JOEY AND/OR THOMPSON OR BOTH. Greedy.

Serious question. Is it plausible that Wojo has now looked at the composition of this class including Ike and Theo and has decided himself to 'wait and see' for Spring now that Tillman went elsewhere?  We're not hearing any chatter about French other than that he's headed to some other A-10 program.  Does French see the logjam?  Does Wojo want to balance some leaving room for Joey?  I guess I'm okay with all of that.

bilsu

I think it is plausable, but it is more likely that French has cooled on us. That would not be a bad thing, if we can fill the last scholarship with Nora or Epperson.

If he completely leaves it open, then you're looking at up to 4 newcomers when Anim/Carter/Cheatham/Heldt are seniors.  That's not the worst thing ever.

No disagreement from me.
