PG McKinley Wright is announcing his decision Sept 15. His decision is down to Minnesota and Dayton. He is a teammate of Theo John. Obviously Theo is going to choose the school that is best for him, I would prefer his close friend McKinley select a school, Dayton, that is not in Theo's final group.

No. He's announcing on Tuesday 9/13.

Gophers got a PG commitment earlier today, BTW.  ?-(

Nice pick up for the Gophers. So then It seems as if McKinley likely to go to Dayton which I think is better for us.

Mark Miller has 3 crystal balls now for John, French and Cain.  Is there room,  for Tillman or Nwora.

Looks like Tillman is deciding in 3 weeks

Izzo was 4 deep when he visited Tillman & his family today. His official to MSU is this coming weekend (sept 17)

Saw a picture of French rocking the MU uniform on Twitter. Hope the visit went well. Mark Miller clearly thinks it went well.

Hasahn French is a man amongst boys. He would be the first guy in the Wojo era that  that would compare ,physicality wise, to some of the tough hombres we recruited in the prior two coaching administrations. I can only imagine what he will be like after Todd and Company do their thing with him.

I wouldn't worry about it......if we can get 3 of those 5 we will be fortunate.

Don't worry I am not losing any sleep over this.  Just something to talk about.

So let's talk about French for a moment.  Seems as if he has serious interest in SLU.  Now I don't mean to bash a nice little A-10 program but can anyone share what factors might be causing a young man to consider that over a MU offer?  Is he being told to wait on a decision by Theo John?  I know there's a pecking order and with Ike already in for fold but if someone can share a little background on this it might add to the discussion here.

I guess I see the opposite happening on Cain (although I'm not in any way suggesting that Big Blue is a better program than Marquette).  In that case Michigan seems to have somewhat filled their dance card and that Cain is evaluating his options with Marquette at or near the top of the list.  Again, thoughts?

New semi-decent name coach, selling the dream, east coast based conference, playing time, run the offense through you, etc..

Take the brother thing out and not that much different than HE.

Hasahn is a highly desirable candidate. Not only is he a good player but by all accounts  he is working hard in school.  He has narrowed his list to 13 schools so obviously he is looking at a lot of places. Given that he did an official with us, I would take that as a serious sign of interest on his part.

As to the St. Louis interest, I would say that Travis Ford is a successful coach and he is working hard to recruit Hasahn. I would not put anything more into it than that. Everyone on Hasahns final 13 would love to have a tough inside player with a 7 foot plus wingspan.

As to Cain, He is an excellent wing with a very high motor. I think he would have an immediate opportunity with us. He is on the same club team as Ike Eke so that is potentially a plus for us. Michigan, Florida State and Georgia are tough competition. There is a special circumstance here, in that Cains father was recently murdered. So I am sure he will be looking for a program with a family atmosphere, which I know for sure we have.

We've become SLU? Maybe someone can post a picture of Pilarz and LW arm in arm smiling with a "Mission Accomplished" banner in the the background!

I would believe first come, first serve on the bigs.  John, Tillman (Crystal Bowl to MSU) and French, you might only get one, we will see.  Cain and Nwora, I would hope
we get one.  MSU will be hard to beat but I have to believe Wojo and Stan have done as much as they can to get the kid.  Stopping off on the way back from NY last
Friday, had to show the kid how hard they want him.  Need to get the ball rolling on one of them,  need John or Tillman to have someone take over for Fischer.  The
rest would be gravy.

I see John as a 4/5 & French as a 4/3. One is a "big", one is a combo forward. Think both could come (nh)

Its all 'bout fit. Some like chicken, some like feathers. Strange as it may seem, MU isn't necessarily tits to every baller, ai na?

One of Travis Ford's assistants at SLU was an assistant at Rutgers.  I'm assuming that could be one of the connections to French.

Travis Ford was named SLU's new coach March 30th.  Since then he has gotten a commitment from Jordan Goodwin, a top 50 2G from nearby Belleville.  I pretty sure that the pitch to French is: be the man from the start and be a part of rebuilding a mortibound program.  That can sound enticing compared to come in and meet the challenge to compete for playing time inside which is what I'm guessing is close to what MU's pitch is.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
