McCabe to WV as expected

Also Hasahn French is visiting MU on September 9
We are looking good vis a vis Hasahn French. Two of his other officials are St Louis and Minnesota.

Maybe that tells you something about his talent level???

Here is an article about the rest of the competition we have.

Have you ever not been bullish on a player MU is pursuing?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

GGGG

Any idea when Hasahn chops his list further?

These young men put in a lot of blood , sweat and tears to get to a level of being recruited by MU, so I definitely see the positives in them. Most of them seem to be very good kids.

No doubt. But saying the same thing about every guy MU recruits at best adds nothing and at worst is terribly annoying.

Have you ever seen the kid play, that is a telling sign how good the kid is, by viewing him personally.  I have seen footage on him, he has a nice body.  Looks like another
project and if they give out 3 scholarships ahead of him, I am sure he is #4.   Different skill set then Ike but MU needs kids who can step in right away, not sure he can.
But then again, he might have to.

I saw him play live once. He has a big body, very active  and is an old school high school center type, He is not a project at all.  Very capable of playing in the Big East , Big Ten or ACC. Buzz offered him.
Here is an article giving a little flavor of who he is.

I would say he looks much better in this tape then the one I saw, still want the other 3 players first.  Faisal Abraham type body with much better O then him.

And he says the same things about a lot of transfers, most of whom Marquette isn't recruiting, but he thinks they should be.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

John/French is a toss up to me. I like both. Really want Tillman and Cain, then one of the other two to go with Eke.

We can't have a class of all Michiganders! People already think Marquette is located in Michigan!

I don't want to be greedy but would definitely like  to see us sign as many of  the four as possible. We have plenty of young guards. These guys would give us the kind of front line profile that teams like  Cincinnati have had for a long time. We need interior strength to move into the upper tier of the Big East. Last year we had Henry who was a rebounding genius and positioned well ( some would say he got the easy ones), absent another guy like that we need to go back to the old fashioned Michigan State style way of banging the boards.

I just really want a center. So we have a staggering with heldt.
I don't want a heldt senior with a frosh back up.

Edit: I realize I've made that same post about wanting a center many times. I apologize. Go MU

I think Eke will ultimately be a center but it may take some time for him to develop.

I don't know that Cincinnati is the model of success that I want to follow. They've made it past the first weekend once in the past 15 years and had a six year NCAA drought between 2005 and 2011.

Tourney is a crapshoot, a''in@?

More importantly, Cinci's DR% rankings the past 5 years: 221, 238, 224, 89, 263. In 10 Cronin years, they've been been a top 60 DR% team just once.

Nonetheless, we want a lot of big tough rebounding guys.

GooooMarquette

I have never seen French play, but this description of his playing style from the above link intrigues me:

The 6'7" three-star talent has an old school big man game, as he uses his strength, toughness, power, and aggressiveness to bully opposing bigs in the painted area. French is a decent defender (because of his ability to block shots and help from the weak side), and has solid touch around the rim on the offensive end.
