Just a general question to pose to everyone:

If we could only take 1, who would people prefer between Minessale and Riley?

Riley, because I believe he's a better player but will listen to arguments either way

Minessale because he's better off the ball, a better defender, and bigger.  But I'd take either.  Size is winning in today's game, so would like to see Minessale and Amari Evans.

Riley. love the positional coverage

Galway Eagle

Minessale because he has a relationship with Marquette already and that way we can still sell RGV gear
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

BM1090

Riley, because I think on ball creation outside of Nigel is an area we really are in need.

Pakuni

Minessale because his family will help boost our sagging attendance.

I would love Minessale and think he adds more all-around, but after seeing Riley was top 10 in free throw rate (made 203 on the year, shot 88% from the line) and shot 39% from 3 I think that's what this lineup is desperately missing. So while I've been on the Minessale train for months, I think I prefer Riley if I had to choose one.

Minessale with zero hesitation.

The size, length, ability to switch as a defender, creation, rim finishing, and catch and shoot efficiency are all pluses. I think he's a real NBA prospect and impacts the game beyond the box score. And he's potentially a two year player.

Riley feels like the opposite. Stat stuffer, but the offense isn't that much better with him on the floor and the defense is demonstrably worse. I also wonder if he's comfortable coming off the bench because I think 15-20 mpg are about all we'd want from him.

Riley due to ability to play PG or SG.

Wouldn't that make Minessale more valuable since he played PG, SG, SF, & PF for St Thomas?

Minessale vs. Riley isn't the choice. Grab both.

If you want another big that badly, find someone to leave.

Also if Riley does come.. He is playing more than 15 minutes per game, it would be closer to 20+. Owens was at 15.6 last year.

Hards Alumni

Minessale.  He reminds me a lot of Chase.

CountryRoads

Having 13 players signed up for next year puts MU in a good position to be choosy. If they could combine the NIL and aim a little higher for one sure fire starter, that's what I would do. Maybe nobody else on the radar though that would qualify as that.

That said I'd be happy if they got both and called it a day.  Would prefer Minessale if only could take 1.

What, he couldn't sell popcorn at the arena too? Lazy!

Tha Hound

I would prefer a guard that can complement the best player on our team, not take the ball out of his hands on O and actively hurt us on D. Give me Minessale and another guard that fits better with our roster makeup.

That Steph Curry kid seems like he has game. I'd take him.

I like Minesalle better personally but Rileys FTR stats are enticing.  Im not sure Riley is going to be a good shooter at the HM level.  He shot 39% sure,  but made less than 1 a game. When he shot more at Cal Baptist, his percentage was 28%.

Id be down for both, but think it may be an either or deal
