I say bring back Chase for a 5th year when that rule goes thru.....

Don_Kojis

Never bring back Chase.  He had a terrible year and proved he isn't a leader.  He was a good complementary player.

So close we can taste it

FYI, Trilly Donovan (THE cbb insider) said 4 hrs ago Marquette is the favorite to land Minnesale and implied it's close to being done if not already.

Would be great news.  Bonus if MU fans learn to spell his name.

It's Minessale. Mines/sale.  Minessale.

Brother, come on.
It's only a few pennies

Would Minessale start for us at the 3, or play a 6th man role? Or could he bump Stevens out of the starting 2 spot? I guess we're looking at something like

Fru             Pearson    Hamilton  Clark
Parham     Egbuonu
Minessale Owens      Miletic
Stevens     Phillips II  Johnston  Walker
James Jr.  Transfer

Quote from: TAMU, Knower of Ball on April 16, 2026, 04:09:07 PMI like Minesalle better personally but Rileys FTR stats are enticing.  Im not sure Riley is going to be a good shooter at the HM level.  He shot 39% sure,  but made less than 1 a game. When he shot more at Cal Baptist, his percentage was 28%.

Id be down for both, but think it may be an either or deal
If not both, what other position/transfer are we looking at?

You're right, it's hopeless.

After all these years, Scoopers can barely spell Ramsey.

Spot on. The big question is, why is Hamilton still on this team?

I would expect that would depend on who is added with the last scholarship as well as competition. I can't imagine Shaka is guaranteeing him a starting spot.

Again, I'm surprised I see a number of people thinking adding a transfer that is strictly a back-up PG makes any sense. To me it would be a waste of a scholarship. I think it would be very difficult to find a quality player who wants to transfer play 6-10 MPG behind James.

Despite the concerns, that's why Riley or perhaps another player makes sense.

I just think if we get Minessale we no longer have much of a role to offer a pg or combo guard, 10min is all we have to spare. Where do we find any role for Riley? Shaka seems to be all in on Stevens, and Nigel obviously needs to play most of the game. I think back to a guy like Joseph Chartouny, as to what an ideal fit to fill out this roster would be.

Minessale can run the point.  He would backup James while also starting.

I also believe the staff view nash as a PG

If we wanted both there are minutes available. 6th men can still get 20 to 25 minutes a game

Highly, highly doubtful.
Stevens is and will be front and center on all MUBB marketing along with NJ and RP.

TAMU already responded but in the hypothetical where we add Minessale and Riley, I would expect one to start and one to be the 6th man.  They also both could play the 1 at times.

Maybe adding both is redundant - we'll see.  I'd just much rather use that last roster spot on another combo guard or a wing.

I thought we could have a million monkeys in front of a million keyboards, and it would take a million years before this setence would appear on Scoop.

Anyway, if we do end up with Minessale, I think a multi-year physical guard like Amari Evans or Kelvin Odih would be a decent pick up.
