Quote from: Juan Anderson's Mixtape on March 07, 2026, 03:02:03 PMFor the record, I didn't say Kager is Steve Novak without a jump shot but Steve did have superior skills. In HS, Steve had more elevation on his jumper, set his feet quicker, and had a quicker release.

Kager shoots more like Ben Gold, except not as flat.  Good shooter but not as dynamic as Novak (or Sam Hauser or Milan Momcilivic) in HS.

From the little I've seen, I don't get the Novak or Momcilivic comparisons. Knueppel seems to play more of a ballhandling role. Given that Novak is either the best or second best shooter in MU history, it doesn't surprise me that he doesn't shoot as well as Novak. Knueppel moves better than Novak. WLHS is way better than Novak's Bown Deer team so WLHS is not dependent on Kager. I only saw Hauser as a senior so I'll have to wait until next year to see if they compare. Zens appears to be the leader on this year's WLHS team. Kager isn't a one and done so maybe his brothers will join him wherever he goes.

Great game to have him at.

Man that's so great to see he was taking that one in. Would be such a huge get to keep this thing rolling.

Thanks for posting.  I've been trying to find his post game presser and haven't been able to find anything but the 30 second clip of him saying he didn't think he bumped the ref.  Hurley seems to love/respect Shaka and Marquette's program.  Always overly complimentary of the program and even the fans.

Yup. Given that Shaka has beaten him three times - including twice to keep Hurley's team from attaining Big East titles - that says something. Sometimes it seems Hurley respects Shaka more than some Scoopers do.

I saw JR Blount was the lead recruiter for Donovan Davis at ISU - can't hurt our chances even if Wisco is maybe our top competition for him.

We R Final Four

For those who are local....

Dooney Johnson (Gonzaga) playing in Madison on Thursday night.

Jack Kohnen and Slinger Friday at 1:30

Kager and WISCO Friday at 6:30.

I believe these games will all be televised on WVTV-18 in Milwaukee.
Edit:  Today's games are on Channel 24

How interested is MU in Jack Kohnen?

His game is reminiscent of Sam Hauser in high school.
