It helps the High School coach recruit  future players when Big East staffs are involved with his current players.

I never thought about the recruiting process from the HS coach POV. That has to be pretty neat for some of them, just like the kid's family.

Wait, HS coaches recruit players?  I thought kids just play for the school in their school district where they grew up.

Cam Ward also now approaching the top 50. However per Trilly Donovan, trending away from MU now. Virginia and others getting more in the picture

Agreed, I do not see him enjoying his style of play!

In the true spirit of yet another Wojo thread derailment, back in the days of yesteryear I would've been pretty disappointed with a Wojo 4 man class with no top 75 recruits.

Nowadays, we are all pretty excited about a Shaka 4 man class in the 80-150 range in the rankings.

What a difference coaching ability can make.

Good point. How would we have felt about a Buzz class? Crean?

yea the difference is shaka doesn't need all of his recruits to be able to play right away in order to be a competent team

Buzz: I'd wonder why there were no JUCOs. Honestly, most of Buzz's highly-ranked recruits probably came up short of expectations in terms of overall career at Marquette. Junior Cadougan, Vander Blue, Jamil Wilson, Juan Anderson, Duane Wilson, Deonte Burton, even Jajuan Johnson. Some came good by their later years (Van, JTA, Jajuan) but it wasn't like anyone came in and were career long starters. If you look at who carried his best teams after the Amigos, it was guys like Jimmy Butler, DJO, and Crowder that came from the JUCO ranks.

Crean: I would be disappointed in this class. He didn't have many lowly ranked guys that really stood out (Wade, but he was a special case). Most of his stars were guys like Diener, Novak, the Amigos, and Hayward who all came in well-regarded.

I am excited about his class for two reasons.
1. They should be able to play Shaka's style.
2. They are players who appear to be on the upswing.
