The kid says "I'm trying to go out there every game an kill, just take people's souls out there."

Kill?? Take people's souls?? Shaka, talk to Niko.

That is interesting given Shaka's frequent references to playing with "violence." That said, Shaka undoubtedly knows about him since he's apparently a top-25 or so recruit (and two of his teammates are coming to MU). He's got a lot of offers -- including from some pretty good programs -- but no offer from MU. You have to wonder if Shaka doesn't think he fits the culture he is trying to develop. Or maybe Shaka doesn't want to waste time on a kid who he knows will not come. Whatever the reason, I trust Shaka's judgment.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

Agreed. Plus it sounds like if UNC calls, the game is over. Probably best to spend time and resources elsewhere.

Highlights from Owens and Parhams first game.  Wow are they inpressive.  Both look like theyll be ready to play game 1 next year.  The future is bright.

Owens is #3 and Parham is #22.

My favorite play is when Parham gets blocked, regains possession, and immediately dunks on the guy's head.

Owens looks super athletic.  Two excellent prospects.

Lots of turnovers and not great shooting today in a loss

Owens and Parham sure look like incredible gets. Even just the two of them alone could be a very special recruiting class.

Both fit a need, good recruiting by Shaka!

More hype for Owens and Parham from their tournament this weekend.

Nice to see.   They both should be in sync when they start here - good to see.

Excited to see these guys.  Two more very solid recruits by Shaka and staff.

Punctuation is important, but if not Lewis must be putting up some monster lines: "My goal is to get to 1000 points and get about 6 assists every game."

MU82

Even Ners never scored more than 980 points in a single game!

Well as our high school Algebra teacher, Acham Chow, advised us students: " You aim for Sky, you land on tree,  aim for tree you land on ground.  So aim for sky."

Random philosophical thought in regards to recruiting.

Shaka has been pretty vocal about his desire to use NIL funds to retain players rather than attract portal guys. This makes a ton of sense to me in the last 2 years as he has an all American and 2 more all BE caliber players. Of course his priority is retention for the reigning BE champ team. So the question is...

Is his retention attitude conditional? If in the coming years we have a glaring hole or two, will he be willing to fill it in the portal? I'm not sure I've heard him talk or expand on the idea further than just doubling down on his guys.

Like everything with Shaka it is cultural.......he believes the players who have put on the uniform are the top.priority.

You can earn NIL when you get here just like everyone else.

I have seen him expand on it in an article or 2 but I don't recall which ones.

Shaka's ability to get guys right before they spike is really impressive.  I can't imagine how we replace TK, Kam and Oso but seems Shaka has a plan....

Who was she saying that to?

Nyk Lewis, top-40 guard in the class of 2025.
