Nothing to do with MU recruiting..... But AJ Dybantsa is ridiculous.

He is the #1 recruit in 2026. But he is playing with Expressions in the class of 2024 in the EYBL. He plays for the same team as Joson Sanon.

He is the third leading scorer in all of the eybl. His team is 7-4. His shooting splits are, 53.8% FG. 32.7%3pt%, 89.3%FT. 60.1 eFG%, 66.2% TS%. Averaging 20.2pts. 5.6 rbds. and 4 assists. per game. Playing 26.8mpg.

If you watch him play, its special.

Kai Rogers is becoming a coveted 2025 basketball recruit. Here's how he's staying focused.
The scholarship offers started flowing in last summer, including one from UW. Rogers took an unofficial visit to MU last month and left with a scholarship offer from Shaka Smart.
"It's nothing too much," Rogers said of the Golden Eagles. "We're talking. I've been to a couple practices over there. It's a nice school. They definitely have their program together. I like how they run stuff."

There are no more limits on number of officials the kids can take, right? It's just the schools that are limited.

Effective July 1, no limit for kids, except they can only do 2 official visits in bball to a particular school, and only if in diff academic years.

2 new Wisconsin names to monitor in 2025 class:

Xzavion Mitchell - 6'8 210 forward from Oshkosh North, playing for Team Herro in AAU this summer recently held his own in a matchup against arguably best prospect in the country Cooper Flagg - https://247sports.com/Player/Xzavion-Mitchell-46138204/

https://youtu.be/Y-fONNLOq5k

T.J. Stuttley- 6'4 shooting guard from Onalaska. Recently got invited to the team USA minicamp for the U16 FIBA Americas along with a lot of the most elite young prospects in the country including many future lottery picks. https://247sports.com/player/tj-stuttley-46136755/

Both list the Badgers as having interest no mention of MU involvement yet. Iowa State gets involved with pretty much every legit WI prospect too so expect them to have interest.

Along with Kai Rogers, Davion Hannah, and Amari Allen, some great WI recruits in 2025 class

Apologize if this was posted somewhere else already.

I say we get one of Issiah Abraham or Sir Mohammed... if yes that's incredible 3 man class with tons of skill, length and athleticism.

MU has 2 scholarships available.. why not both... can't have too many switchable, long athletic types.

Scholarship situations are always fluid now but we have 2 scholarships open for 2023......which will be filled by Owens and Parham........if you consider Oso as likely being done after next season then we have 1 more.

Kolek has said he wants to play 2 more so if true his spot won't open.

So if you sign 2 more you would probably be Over signing.........which is fine depending what Shaka knows that we don't.

So for 2024 as far as we know now  we will not have room for 2 more spots in addition to Parham and Owens......

I'm sure if they both told Marquette they wanted to commit and sign we'd find a way for both.  It would be a log jam in that Owens, Abraham and Mohammed are all very similar players with tremendous upsides.  Parnham is more of a classic post player who can rebound and finish but also has the ability to get out in transition and stretch defenders out to the 3 point line.  He's athletic but not freak athletic like Owens and Abraham are.  Mohammed is athletic too but seems to be more effective in half court sets where he uses his already strong/developed body to find points on the floor where he can be effective creating offense for himself and teammates.  Would be fun to watch Tre Norman and Sir Mohammed work together in half court sets as they are both very strong, smart players.

We took three forwards together several years ago in Oso, Dawson Garcia and Justin Lewis.  Many of us said Oso had the highest ceiling even though he wasn't as advanced physically as the other two.  In the long run these issues of too much talent tend to work their way out as Lewis went pro and Garcia shipped out.  Oso was willing to put the work in and wait it out and not demand instant gratification his first year.  The 2nd year he was happy to be a backup even though he was better than the starter ahead of him.  Now Oso could go down as a Marquette legend if he takes another big jump next year and helps MU to finally take a deep run into the post-season.

In the past I have not been a fan of over signing.
However, I would really like to have a four man class including Abraham and Mohammend.
My gut feeling is Gold will have a breakout year and will be in next year's draft, which will give us three spots for four recruits.
The fourth spot will work out one way or another.

I don't think a 4 man class is even an  over signing? We have 2 open scholarships today.

At the end of next season, Kolek should be gone. He's a senior. And he'll be 23 at the end of the season. If he wants a career in professional basketball, this should be his last season. Oso should be gone. He is a senior, and he probably has the most  credits on the team, even among the walkons.  Oso is the most likely player to climb up 2024 draft boards next year.

Additionally you could convince me that any of Kam Jones, Ben Gold, or Chase Ross could have enough talent to flirt with the possibility of professional basketball next year. Sophomore jumps are real. And kam could average anywhere from 15 to 20 points next year.

Obviously the calculus changes if there is a non senior/grad transfer addition yet to come for next year. But I would not make assumptions on that for 2-4 more weeks still.

No one is signed to come in for 2024-25, but two are verbally committed. That said, we are fully SLOTTED as of today. That is, we have 2 open scholarships today, but have zero players who will exhaust eligibility this coming season.

Agree, though, that there will absolutely be movement... could be 3 to 4 easily, so I'd have no issue "accepting" commits from 2 more 2024s today

Not as big of a deal with immediate eligibility on transfers.

Agreed, but if Payne and Holtmann are under the gun this upcoming season, definitely makes it harder to recruit.
