What was his dad's game like? He was before my time

Limited offensively, bruiser in the paint who could block shots and rebound.  Better version of Theo John

Good shot blocker and rebounder.  Never much on offense and a terrible FT shooter.  But he was a valuable inside presence on good teams.  O'Neill recruit.

When was the last time we had a scholarship men's basketball player whose dad played at MU?  I know of the Marottas, but that's it.  Rivers' kids were the only others I remember being big time recruits.

Henry and Wally Ellenson's dad played one year at MU before transferring to UW.

Theo John.

Chiseled young man from day 1 on campus (a fellow Last of the Warriors, btw)

Less of a shotblocker and less skilled offensively than Theo.  A prototypical 90's pf type.  From a body comp, Oakley, Anthony Mason, Larry Johnson.  A very physical 6'7 banger.

Was he less skilled of an offensive player?  Think they were close.  Faisal was better defensively and on the glass but he played in a superior defensive system

False. More of a shotblocker and about the same offensively.

One lists him as class of '25, one lists him as '26. Anyone know which is right? 247 also says '25.

2025 and he is actually playing up with 2024s in AAU this spring and performing very well.  He plays a lot more like the bigs Shaka had at Texas, freak athlete rim protector and rim runner.  Or I guess Kur too but this kid is a lot better.
