I mean, it's pretty center North South. Definitely east of center.

Isaiah Abraham is on an official visit to Marquette this weekend.

The 6-foot-7 forward in the 2024 class is the son of former #mubb player Faisal Abraham.

Not sure who I'd rather bring in, him or Sir, but I'd be ecstatic with either.

If Kaukana is central Wisconsin, then Wojo was the greatest basketball coach Marquette ever saw.

I assume it's up north, which as far as I'm concerned, is anything west of Waukesha and north of Brown Deer.

It's Kaukauna.  And it's near Appleton.

Woah thats awesome.  I thought for sure having Owens and Parham already committed would have him looking elsewhere.  It would be interesting to see how Shaka would fit Owens and Abraham together since their games are so similar.

Indeed both very talented players who are articulate with good heads on their shoulders as they come from good families.  Isaiah looks incredibly quick, explosive and long in his videos... a totally different player than his father (see the 2nd half of the video below and his talent is very obvious).

Getting talent at Marquette has never been an issue.  However under Shaka we are getting, dare I say too much talent?  No longer the Crean and McGuire recruiting philosophy of getting 7-8 studs and 5 scrubs (under Wojo at times we had 1 stud, a couple good one dimensional players and 7 scrubs).  Of course in this day of instant transfer and NIL money it makes sense to have a ton of talent to survive some inevitable transfers and still be ready to inflict damage in the gauntlet that is our schedule.

Sir (short for Nasir) is Muslim, Marquette of course is catholic but at least both religions believe in God.  However based on this interview below he's very eloquent and reminds me a lot of Shaka in how he thinks and talks (i.e.: he mentions relationships and how close his high school team is).  Having said this I could see where they both mesh with each other and could ultimately be the reason why he comes to Milwaukee for college.

Would love for Shaka to land both Sir and Isaiah.  Two players with bright futures. Bring in as much talent as possible.

Remember their statue in front of their brand new high school in the late 90s?

That was a big yikes.

PointWarrior

This?

Since 2018, the mascot—especially certain depictions—have become increasingly contentious, resulting in a Galloping Ghost mural in the RUHS gym to be painted over.

Some have said the image of a cloaked rider is too similar to images of the Ku Klux Klan.

It's a ghost on horseback.   You can probably imagine why that would be problematic.

At least they didn't stoop so low as to put a warrior statue up.

From what I can tell, the statue is still there. They did add a sign this past January to explain that it's a "Galloping Ghost" and not a KKK member, so progress!

WhiteTrash

It's about damn time to 'cancel' Red Grange!
