It's blasphemous around these parts to mention an exit, and I definitely mean no ill will towards any Marquette players, especially Sean who I'm really pulling for because he's a little dude that is just out punching bigger dudes everytime he succeeds and he wears my favorite number (22).

I felt the same about Markus- I love undersized guys that step in and dominate amongst the trees. It's becoming extremely more difficult to succeed as a sub 6 foot guard, even sub 6'2 guard, in the modern game as players just get bigger/longer by the day.
I'm sure Muggs agrees with me here.

That said, there was a thought that creeped in in the last few weeks that made me feel like it would be tough for Shaka to keep Sean at Marquette if there was a blockade at the guard position, which there seemingly will be.
Outside of any unexpected exits, which there hopefully won't be, I would have thought that SJ22 is the 3rd most likely to move on after Keeyan or EE.

It just seemed as if he was struggling of late and getting less run. That made his performance against UConn extra special for me- he came in and changed the game, had a huge impact and was one of the reasons we won that game. That was against an elite BE team.
I love the versatility he gives at PG- he has a skill set that no one else does- and that's great for both him and the team.

I'd love for him to finish strong and continue to see more run, but as the season gets deeper and the rotations get shorter it'll be on him, and hopefully he's up to the challenge.
Then he will have to work his tail off, like others before him (hello Tyler Kolek!) to get himself in and keep himself a part of a loaded backcourt rotation next season.

Hopefully he starts with a big one tonight.
I don't see Sean outside looking in. I believe Shaka values his D a lot sort of like Stevie last year. He has shown a decent 3 point shot, he just needs to realize that BE is not HS when he drives amongst the trees. BE trees tend to be more athletic on D.

Yeah, it goes without saying that there will be some extreme competition at the guard spot next year. I'd say Kolek is the only safe one.

I watched Dodds show the other day and they had Adam Finkelstein on and it sure sounds like Norman is an alpha dog type player who won't be expecting to be an end of the bench player in year one. It's a good problem to have though and excited to see how it shakes out.

You don't think Kam is "safe" to be on our roster next season?

Ya I mean if someone is going to be that extreme to say Kam isn't safe then why not go all in and say Kolek isn't safe either, but for different reason. With NIL can we really keep Kolek around?

I'm surprised Lowery hasn't risen more?
Looked at Lowery's stats. His stats aren't through the roof, and the team is not doing great. That might be the reason.

Not meant to be an extreme take. Made a mistake and wasn't thinking of Kam.

Didn't word that very well. By "safe" I just meant that as part of the rotation and not as part of the roster. I don't see Kolek (or Kam as you've pointed out) losing any minutes next year.

Kolek needs to be on floor at least 30 plus minutes per game
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

Norman is also a guy who puts his team first.......I read an article the other day where an assistant coach said that Tre has told the staff on multiple occasions that if he wasn't performing up to standard they should " bench him".

Sean can get into the lane at will.  If he develops a floater and improves his decision-making after he gets in the paint in regards when to pass and shoot he'll be a lot more effective.  No reason to think he wouldn't show significant improvement in those areas by next season.

Pakuni

Fondly recalling the days when Kolek was going to be moved off the ball to improve his shooting and get Sean in the starting lineup.

Sean and Kolek actually do pretty good together on the court.  The ball always seems to end up in Tyler's hands but he doesn't need to bring the ball up the floor.  Part of what makes this team so hard to guard.

Strokin 3s

Had the chance to see Davion Hannah from Nicolet last night.  Smooth looking jumpshot and handles the ball well for a kid that is a 6'7" sophomore in HS.  Hadn't seen him mentioned around here much so thought I would bring it up and see if anyone else has any takes on him.

Sidenote, his brother is a 6'9 so maybe not done growing yet and plays at Bradley for Wardle.

Him and his Nicolet teammates were at a game and in the postgame locker room celebration recently.  I think the UCONN game?  He's probably going to be a top 50 level recruit.

Add Xzayvion Mitchell from Oshkosh North.  Reminds me a lot of Omax, really long, versatile 4.

Seen him play a few times, very skinny right now but very talented. Shaka type player, whereas Kneuppel looks like a Badger type player with a great shot, not quick, built like Ernie Grunfeld.
