So Harvard's "close to home" and "not a bad option." Not sure how that's any better than...

Marquette: "Just the whole staff there, they've been consistent since they started recruiting me. I went on a visit and it was just a bunch of love out there."

Marquette: "That visit was great and they showed a lot of love. We went to the Bucks arena and walked around some and also campus was a great experience. Coach Shaka and his coaches they kept it 100 with me and they showed me a lot of love. They weren't trying to sugarcoat me on anything and it wasn't just them being cool. It was everybody involved with the program from trainers to people behind computers in the office all of them were showing love."
What he is saying it's Harvard and he's getting an Ivy League Pedigree and all that  entails in life , as evidenced by people in his community he knows. Coach Amaker sold the basketball values for what they are and obviously it is the hometown school

Obviously if it comes down to just basketball Harvard is out.

We have no clue what the parents are thinking .

Well, what everyone who has been following the recruitment is saying is that it's not Harvard. I'll take that over your misinterpretation of boiler plate recruiting comments.

Did he emphasize home, option or staff the most in his speech inflection? Need someone to take a deep dive

Did he pronounce it as "Hah-vahd"? The answer to that question is key.

Ever since I found out Herman was on Grimes's visit with him, I've just accepted Herman's word on recruiting insight as Gospel. He's as inside as inside gets.

Onto the next one, I suppose. Unless the Wojo boosters (literally and figuratively) step up. Then we have a shot.

Yeah, but MUFINY probably attended his Harvard visit in person with him.

Tre's mom will decide. She's gonna say forget Harvard. It's too close. Go to Marquette. I'm tired of cooking your meals and cleaning up after you.  But I will always love you. Get your butt up to Marquette. They will love you too.

When the best thing a player can repeatedly say about an option is it's close to home that school is probably not in the lead for his services.

Maybe I'm wrong but this just seems like a REALLY bad take, Herm.

It's a terrible take based on zero reality

Don't you know all D1 basketball players don't go to Harvard for the education?

New 2024 offer. Caden Diggs, 6'7 forward out the DMV area. Currently unranked and holds offers from us, a bunch of mid majors, and Xavier

Sure hope Shaka and the staff have a better eye for talent than most other staffs and the recruiting services. If not, the talent coming in is underwhelming and I hope he coaches them way, way up.

The talent is certainly much worst than what Wojo brought in.

I thought Shaka was supposed to be this great recruiter and he's bringing in mid-major types at MU.

I barely care about a rising college freshmens recruiting ranking. I couldn't care less about a rising high school juniors recruiting ranking

The ranking combined with the schools were competing with for many of these kids is concerning, at the very least. It's one thing to compete for an unranked kid with offers from Nova, Texas Tech, and Virginia. It's another when you're trying to beat out Rutgers and Harvard.

Like I said, I'm hoping Shaka's eye for talent is significantly more accurate than other high major coaching staffs and the recruiting services, or that he's a miracle worker in developing talent.

Rutgers and Harvard makes me think you are referring to Tre Norman who is not unranked, he is a top 100 ranked recruit. The reason there aren't many other schools involved is because Marquette locked him down when he was unranked and by the time he blew up, it was too late for other schools to get involved.

If you are referring to Diggs, the new offer from today, he's a rising high school junior. There is a long time between now and him arriving on a college campus for him to become ranked or have other schools involved. He already has an offer from Sean Miller at Xavier, Miller is many things including a pretty good evaluator of talent.
