Memphis had two.......so we would be fortunate to even be considered a mid major conference!

Anytime people start discussing recruiting classes before they even start at Marquette, I remind myself that Marquette had 6 Parade All-American's (top 40 recruits) in the 1980, 81 and 82 recruiting classes.  Glenn Rivers, Dwayne Johnson, Mandy Johnson, Walter Downing, Kerry Trotter and Lloyd Moore.  They had moderate success at best. 

The moral of the story is that you wait 4-5 years to evaluate a recruiting class.

Walter Downing should not be on that list.

Walter Downing should not be on that list.

He played 2 years at Marquette and was a Parade All-American in 1981.  May not have signed out of high school, but was still at Marquette.

If not for a recruiting "miscue",Walter would have been at MU from day one. Never lived up to expectations after shoulder injury, but a very nice guy and glad he ended up at MU.
