I am pretty sure that a high majority of recruits that visited MU decided to go elsewhere.

As is the case for most, if not all schools.

I think that is that case for every school as there are limited spots available and multiple visits .

I am just pointing out that a player not be able to visit schools does not make a huge difference. I think most players pick the school because of coaches and not campuses.

Wojo's problem is that he just cannot wow the recruit. The recruits seem to like him, but in my opinion he is competing against much more exciting personalities.

Checking out campus is about 1% of the purpose for a recruiting visit.

From what I've heard, Justin Turner would be practicing in the Al right now but he couldn't bring himself to commit to a school he had never visited. Recruiting visits matta

Virtually identical in terms of seasonal length & headline temperatures, but having grown up in Buffalo, the Milwaukee wind cuts through you like a knife in a way that just doesn't really exist in WNY (or at least not with the same frequency). Definitely less snow in MKE.

Go Bills

I agree with this regarding weather.

Am I missing something? I was under the impression that all college basketball games are played indoors. Why should the weather matter or even be considered as a factor for recruiting.

You are aware that student athletes aren't actively playing/practicing 24/7/365 right?  They do go outside from time to time.  Different things matter to different recruits.  Weather likely plays a small part in recruiting.  Is it ever a deciding factor? Probably not, unless you're Pepperdine, but to dismiss it completely is a mistake IMO.

My point is that the MU Northern urban campus setting is generally not a handicap. In fact a lot of kids these days like this kind of campus.

What matters is winning. It is easier to “wow” the  recruits when your Team is putting up S16 or better every year. The attention successful programs get is valued by recruits.

A good example was last year with the recruitment of RJ Davis. MU , Georgetown and Pitt (all urban campuses)were battling for RJ’s services. UNC came in late with an actionable offer and it was game over.

Well, that's a different topic altogether. I agreed with his assessment of the weather of both places.

Basketball may be played indoors but one has to actually go outside sometimes while in college.

As to your question, in my opinion, I don't believe weather is that big of a factor for many to most recruits. I do believe it is for a small percentage. My response was more about what the weather is and isn't there.

Weather is a big factor in young adulthood onward in your 20's etc...but less so to some extent while in school in my opinion.
Now, weather opinions is a whole other thing.

What if I were to tell you that basketball recruits are individual human beings, each with his own set of priorities and desires when it comes to choosing a college?
For some kids, MU's urban, northern campus is a dealbreaker. For others, it's desirable. For others, it's barely a factor.
For some kids, a consistent Final Four contending program is a must. For others, it's about the easiest path to significant playing time. For others, it's relationships. Some kids want to stay close to home. Some kids can't wait to get away from home. Some kids want to play for one of their parents' alma maters. Others want nothing to do with that shadow.
Trying to narrow a complex, personal decision to one factor is silly.

I agree the recruiting process is complex.   I was just responding to a narrow issue in the thread about campus visits.

Two Crystall Balls for Mustapha Amzil for DePaul.

I know this kid is relatively new on the domestics scene, but he sure appears to have a big upside.

Leitao has started to have some recruiting success, but if he can't get it done this year, I think his time in Chicago might be over.

Marquette just offered four-star junior Bryce Lindsay, he told @stockrisers. Steve Wojciechowski virtually met with him this morning, now offers.

Sure, and, you never say never. But Ohio St. has been recruiting his since his Freshman year. It is one of his few visits. On to the next one.

Sort of need some small forwards or a big the following year, have enough guards. Like to really see a shooting wing.

Thanks for the update.

An ideal fit with Creighton. This is good for the Big East .

However, I like our two guards in the 2021 class a lot . I think they are going to be quite a duo in the future.

Glad to see TyTy wasn’t typecast. Loved his work as Snoop on The Wire.

Marquette was involved with him a bit last year.  Aidoo would still be my preference,  EHE would be a solid pickup.
