DePaul has been recruiting better than Illinois lately. And that's not even a joke, just got a commitment from Ahamad Bynum from Simeon.

Illinois landed top 50ish Andre Curbelo, as well as former MU recruit Coleman Hawkins. And are the favorite for top 50 Adam Miller, who announces Thursday.
DePaul has yet to sign anyone for 2020. Bynum is a borderline top 100 kid, which is good for DePaul, but a 2021 commitment ain't worth much at this point.

During a time out, Wisky played a video of their 5 recruits including AAU highlights. They then quoted their ranking as "8th," to which my friend said: how is that possible, not everyone has committed yet.

That was some b.s.. silly nonsense. Now, can guys from MN like Crowl and Carlson work in the uw-madison extension system? Sure.. plug n play nh.

Johnny Davis can be very very good.. his brother is there only because of him.

It's an OK class *for them*.. maybe top 30-35 nationally when all is said and done. Lots of mid-tier guys. Congrats!

That "8th ranked" is like saying, "we're the top team in the NCAA tourney" when you just won the First Four game of the tournament

It's because of Wojo. Nobody, especially me, thinks Marquette is some terrible program. I don't however, think Wojo is a good coach. I have felt for a very long time that he'll be replaced at some point. Our own very maligned coach, took him to the woodshed last season. If Buzz were still there, then heck yeah, I'd see why Garcia would want to go there.

This is based purely off highlight videos - My hot take is that he looks like a more coordinated Henry, with a better stroke to boot. Who knows if he would have the same impact, but the tools are undoubtedly there.

The jury is very much out on him as a coach, but as a recruiter he's beaten out programs way better than Indiana and coaches way better than Archie Miller for highly sought kids.

Let's face it. FK Football is here, under the guise of friendly foe, to slowly sow seeds of disparagement on the MU program in the hope that maybe Garcia will read it and change his mind.

It's brilliantly narcissistic and pathetic. I applaud him, and fully encourage him to seek out other recruits at breakfast or to do other creepy things to sway the battle in his own mind.

I would wager that FK Football [believes he] is single handedly responsible for several recruits on various programs within the IU program. He is cunning.

MU needs to step up the pace of recruiting . The Badgers just announced a well regarded 5 man class for 2020 and already have 3  solid commits in place for 2021. I know Whiskey is  not in the same conference, but we play them each year and it is an important measuring stick for our program.

Would like to see us make a hard push for Zaire and Alex Antetokounmpo . We have quite a few openings left and need to start filling a few of them with elite athletes.  Having nothing to lose by going after either of these two guys.  Neither one is going to come in right away and change the trajectory of program, but with some work and time both could be very solid contributors. Alex is now about 6-8 with a huge wingspan. Wouldn't hurt to have the huge social media following these guys have focused on our program for a few years either.

Wojo: Well, we just recruited 3 front court players who fill our plans for how we want to play.  However, we see an important role for you in improving our social media game and in meeting the needs of Scoupers who like to collect recruits...

U do understand ur coach is even less highly regarded from a national viewpoint?? Taking ateam with an all Big ten PF and a preseason lottery pick to an implosion of a season and an NIT birth likely gives recruits caution.  U do understand this correct?? I hope u and ur daughter handle Dawsons decision well, regardless of how it goes.

CE: Marquette has been on you for a while now. I know that Coach Wojo (Steve Wojciechowski) and your relationship is strong. Talk me through all of that.

DG: Like you mentioned, my relationship with the coaches is great. They have put in a lot of effort and time, as well as, whenever I went on my visit there, I really enjoyed the players. I could see myself doing some of the things that they were showing me and that they have done with players in the past. It was a really good visit.

CE: How did they talk about how they might use you there?

DG: They just want to bring me in and I guess, let me have freedom and play through my mistakes and all of that as a freshman, lead the team and do some serious damage.

This makes me feel good. Still have no idea and think that Minny might be the one that could randomly beat us out. But from this it sounds a lot like Marquette checks the boxes.

One thing I will say about Wojo's recruiting, you consistently hear that they do a great job of both building relationships and articulating a clear vision for how they see the player fitting in with the team. Hope it pays off here!
