Dude wuz a 3-star recruit. Likewise, hope he's a baller. Udderwise, he's a lock for lookin' good at da Y on Saturday mornin's, hey?

Are star rankings still a thing when a guy is four years removed from a high school?

No but he hasn't played consistently at the high major level. I always hedge my bets with these guys.  I think he'll be more Rowsey than Chartouny but who knows.

I think All Big East predictions for McEwen are a year ahead of schedule.

I forgot chartoney was even on the team

The kid from Canada looks like big time player. I seldom comment of highlight tapes, but he looks like a guy everyone will be after before long.

Mane, Garcia, project 5, transfer.   Yes, please.

Agree. But hopefully talking about him when he plays for Marquette.

Actual college production < High School ranking.

Not sure I buy that argument.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Right. I have no idea whether Koby will more like Rowsey or Chartouny or something in between (Lockett?), but I do know that the number of stars 247 or Rivals gave him in 2015 won't have anything to do with it.

Neither one.  He won't be the same offensive threat as Rowsey was, but he should be the second or third leading scorer, and he'll be tons better defensively.

YOU would be better defensively.

Hey! That's not fair. AR regularly held his man below 50 points a game.

Utah St's OOC was kind of weak in the years he was there.  In his freshman year 16-17, he averaged 7 pts, 2 rebounds, 2 assists against Purdue, Texas Tech, and BYU.  Sophomore year, even smaller sample set, but he played really well against BYU and put up 20-3-3.  He had foul trouble against Utah and only played 12 min, couple points and boards.

However, you look in conference, against tourney teams, and he shined.  MWC was a one bid team (Nevada) his first year.  He averaged 16-6-1 in their 2 matchups including 26 in their first meeting.

Sophomore year, Nevada and SDSU made the tourney, he averaged 19-6-4 including putting up 32 at home.

So he wasn't just feasting on cupcakes.  Once he got settled in by regular season of his freshman year, he looked pretty dang good.

Oladipo was a 3 star recruit.  Granted he had a college coach that made him much better and into a future lottery pick.   ;)

Advanced stats vs top competition look rough. Fairly ugly splits, tbh

Shoutout to this guy for helping Marquette's cause.

Was sad he didn't get a picture with Dawson on Friday, but beat the odds and was oh so lucky enough to run into him on Saturday at breakfast where he took a picture with Dawson and with his parents... and then made the picture with his parents his twitter banner.
