Interview from Indiana guy Jeff Rabjohns with Dawson Garcia:

https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Article/Video-interview-5-star-Dawson-Garcia-Part-1-137388301/

Followed by Rabjohn's 10 takeaways:

https://247sports.com/college/indiana/board/105672/contents/5star-dawson-garcia-his-recruitment-ten-key-things-to-know-137390244/

My summary:
He thinks it's MU 1a and Indiana 1b right now. Would be surprised if it's anything but one of those 2.

Garcia may or may not visit MU again. He said in the interview that he will probably sit down with his family after the IU visit this weekend and make a decision.

The Garcia family values the time Marquette has invested in recruiting him.

He thinks IU is behind MU but has a chance to pass us with the visit.

Marcus92

Thanks for the recap. Garcia would be a perfect fit for MU next season. Hope we can land him.

So if Garcia sets an announcement after the visit, it could mean Indiana has overtook us...or it could mean that Indiana didn't do enough to catch up. Either way we will be angsty!

That's the way I took it as well.

Think we might be able to tell a bit of what direction it may go IF Wojo is in to see him shortly after his visit(if there's time, and I'm assuming there will be).

If he sets an announcement after the visit, I'll expect him to pick Marquette. If it's Indiana (it's Indiana) he'll at least visit here again to make sure.

In my glass half full state I sort of see this the same way. My hope is that MU is in a good position because they have been recruiting him the longest and strongest and he had an awesome time here last year. That makes me hope that his comments mean that he doesn't need to see MU again unless he's blown away somewhere else.

This would be a huge one for Marquette, you're table is set Mr. Garcia!!

Ps: I also like the sound of Kendall Brown with an early commit to MU. If Garcia chooses MU hopefully him and Justin Lewis can use the USA b-ball connection to help bring him in. Then Wojo lands a guard like Mane or the pg in 2021 outta the Milwaukee area and we are cooking post Markus era.

If the above were to happen something tells me Justin Lewis will become a huge fan favorite in Milwaukee.

Karim Mane will take an official visit to Marquette January 3rd per Jake at Stockrisers.

He picked a good weekend. MU vs Nova at 1pm and Bucks vs Spurs at 7:30 on 1/4.

Indeed he would! Hopefully at that point we've blazed a trail through non-con while showing off Markus' full range of skills putting him safely on draft boards / mid-year AA lists.

Would be nice if he has both Cadougan & McEwen connections too.

brewcity77

That's huge. Mane would be a fantastic get. Crossing my fingers that he only needs one official visit to make a decision.

I checked the first page and he wasn't listed, so for those that haven't been following as closely; is Mane the CG out of Canada? 2020, or 2021? Link to any highlights?

Yes he is the 2020 CG from Montreal. 247 Composite has him as a 3 Star but Rivals and 247 Internal have him as a 5 Star. So I'm guessing some places don't have him ranked since he's from Canada.

Wow.  I honestly thought we'd go out and visit him a couple times and he'd end up cutting his list to 4 or 5 mostly blue bloods and we wouldn't be in it.  Getting a visit is a big step.  If I could choose between RJ, Mane, Terry, and Hoggard I think I'd take Mane.  Suggs would be the only guard that Marquette has been connected to in this class that I'd prefer of Mane (though I'd be thrilled if we had landed/do land any of those 6).

Its DJOver

Thanks.  I trust the staff's evaluation of talent, so I assume that the 3* composite is due to Canada being evaluated differently?

I'm guessing just a lack of exposure in the US.  He has offers from Kansas, Texas, Maryland, Marquette, etc.  Kentucky and Oregon are poking around.  I think he's big, big time.

Was just telling some friends exactly this. I always would have taken Mane over RJ and Hoggard, but I just assumed we wouldn't have a shot with him. Getting him on campus for a visit is a great sign.

Mane would be an incredible get. Projected first round draft pick if he came out this year, and he's eligible to do so if he chooses.

He's a 5 Star on 247 and a 5 Star on Rivals. He is probably just not ranked on some of the other sites that 247 uses to create its composite ranking.
He is a 5 star recruit.

I have felt this way too. Mane isn't as good of a shooter. But a hell of a driver--more height and strength than RJ.

He and Dawson would take this class from "very good" to "HOLY SH*T."
