I knew people that went to practices and scrimmages that season he sat out. On a team with Brian Wardle and Cordell Henry as upper classmen, Wade was unquestionably the best player in the floor and they knew he'd be a stud the minute he started next year

I was lucky enough to play some pickup with Wardle, Henry, and Wade at the rec center during their overlapping summer (right after Wardle graduated, I think), and it was definitely apparent that Wade was an unreal athlete and the best player out there.

My favorite personal memory of Wade came the next summer at the rec center - I put up a floater that (predictably) wedged between the hoop and the backboard.  Wade says "I got it", jumps up, and knocks it free... with his elbow.

Oh yeah, and Brian Barone gave me a bloody nose one time.  I shall have my revenge.

He might have been, I just didn't look high enough.

Did we ever stop to think that Ners may actually be Dwyane Wade?

From Ryan James, Wojo will be in for Dawson Garcia today.

Also, Stan is in Minnesota watching 2023 targets Taison Chatman and CJ O'Hara.

For a west coast guy Stan seems to have made some nice inroads in MN (could be purely anecdotal misremembering on my part just seems that way)

Sacar > T. John > Garcia > floodgates open..........         here's hoping

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Didn't realize that Brown-Ferguson is a reclassification candidate.

It seems that he is a very likely reclassification candidate. A lot of teams have talked to him about that, from what I am recalling from articles where he talks about interested teams.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Didn't Stan play his college ball in Minnesota?

Just his senior year at Bemidji.  He grew up in Utah and spent three years at Southern Utah University.

Our man Stan led the D-2 nation with 12 three pointers per game his Senior season at Bemidji. Go Stan!

Both Park Center youngsters this past year... (Dain Dainja)

C.J. still at Park Center.

Chatman now going to Totino Grace though I think (Catholic HS), but PC JV last year.

Some of these Minnesota programs have so much talent throughout the years, you can get some gains even when losing out on others... see Park Center, Minnehaha (jalen, chet, prince), DeLaSalle, etc.

That's correct. I think GE32's point was that if Hoggard visited again so soon and the same weekend he commits, his decision would certainly be for Marquette.

Corey Evans weekend writeup about big visits this weekend:

Dawson Garcia:
Much has been said about Minnesota and its inability to keep the very best from its state at home for college. The Golden Gophers have built their roster with a few in-state standouts, but landing the elite has remained out of their grasp. They are hoping to change that this weekend when Dawson Garcia comes to campus for an official visit. The top 35 forward is down to a final seven, but he has decided to speed up his recruitment and is now expected to sign early. Marquette has garnered most of the talk of late, but that could change this weekend. Richard Pitino is hoping the idea of playing in front of his friends and family - all while being the go-to guy - could ultimately win out. Garcia will not be alone, as one of the summer's top breakouts, Martice Mitchell, will also be on campus. The Rivals150 big man has tremendous upside and will visit the Gophers after seeing Xavier last weekend.

Corey Evans was insistent that Garcia would sign in Spring. Now a few of his colleagues elsewhere said it would be Nov signing period and he has done a 180. So now several think Garcia will decide in the fall. We'll see.

Yep...mentioned this the other day...the news was that Louisville was out. They recruited Love as well as anyone and they were in his final 3. UNC or Mizzou, neither would surprise me considering his recruitment.
