@jakeweingarten: Wake Forest, Clemson, and Marquette will all be in today for Top-75 junior Bryce McGowens, a source told @Stockrisers.

McGowens is back at Wren HS.

I suspect still #2 for now, though volume does matter. Kentucky has 3 top-45 recruits. Add those two and I think Marquette would likely be right around the top-10 when all is said and done.

Unfortunately neither will come.  We used up all our local business/alumni money paying for Lewis and Osa.

Oh sorry that's down the road a couple years.

Have we thought about elevating the Scoop letter writing campaign to a national telethon?

See the NMD petition. Scoop is always way ahead of the chain letter curve.

I'm still tapped out from paying the Hausers NOT to go to UW.

Of all the crazy things said after they chose not to go to UW, someone in Buckyworld suggesting an alum paid them not to is my favorite

Forget "gard cooled on him." It's now "marquette paid him not to commit" from here on out.

At this point, only one school in Division I -- Kentucky -- has more Top 100 commitments than Marquette does.

B.J. Boston (#12), Lance Ware (#32) and Cam'Ron Fletcher (#43) have committed to the Wildcats. Marquette is one of a dozen other schools with 2 Top 100 commitments so far.

Brown-Ferguson was offered shortly after the Houston prospect camp.  When the staff learned he was thinking about reclassifying, they amped up pursuit to make him a priority.

According to Brown-Ferguson we have not offered yet...https://www.zagsblog.com/2019/09/13/coaches-flocking-to-see-canadian-big-man-javonte-brown-ferguson-who-has-three-official-visits-set/

That article is from today but there is old information in it.  The school breakdowns were from earlier this summer.

I'll look around to find the Marquette offer.

That wasn't the part in quotes 82. The part that was in quotes was we haven't seen a class like this in a long long time.

Ah ... so you were just inferring that the phrase in quotation marks meant folks here were calling it a godsend.

Thanks....that is really bad for Zagoria to use old quotes in an article that he ran today....especially when the information is no longer accurate.

Yeah pretty much. I just wanted to bring some people down to earth and realize it's a great recruiting coup but more often than not in MUBB history our top 100s turn out to be a bust or extremely average. And give some context of previous classes that would've been deemed the next three amigos

Understood.

It's why my two favorite words whenever trying to project the future are: "We'll see."

Still, as an optimist at heart, I'm happy to see these nice recruiting scores.

R.J. Davis's high school, Stepinac, is having a NY Basketball Coaches Clinic on September 20th.
Wouldn't you know it.....both Jeff Capel and Wojo are guest speakers at the event.  Looks like Wojo was just added as a speaker today.

His official visit to Pitt is the next day (September 21st) while ours is the next weekend (September 28th).
Seems like a two horse race at this point (*knocked on wood since UNC is in the mix*), but just hilarious that both coaches are bending over backwards to be involved at the high school.

Woj is probably gonna talk on cuddle strategies, hey?

It matters because many thought the Hausers' departure meant that bad times were ahead. Starting a class with two top 100 recruits counters that argument.
