There you are.  Was missing you.

Well, you knew Doc wasn't gonna show up on the Osa thread to give a thumbs-up to Wojo getting another good recruit.

At this point, only one school in Division I -- Kentucky -- has more Top 100 commitments than Marquette does.

B.J. Boston (#12), Lance Ware (#32) and Cam'Ron Fletcher (#43) have committed to the Wildcats. Marquette is one of a dozen other schools with 2 Top 100 commitments so far.

#43 is a little low for Cal, innit?

The one-and-done stars like John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Davis get all the attention. But Kentucky also signs plenty of recruits outside the Top 25 (per 247 composite rankings):

Class of 2009
Jon Hood (#56)
Eric Bledsoe (#68)

Class of 2010
Stacey Poole (#47)

Class of 2012
Willie Cauley-Stein (#43)

Class of 2013
Derek Willis (#126)
Dominique Hawkins (#192)

Class of 2015
Isaac Humphries (#47)
Charles Matthews (#60)
Tai Wynyard (#89)

Class of 2017
Quade Green (#26)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (#31)
Jemarl Baker (#73)

Class of 2018
Tyler Herro (#37)

Class of 2019
Johnny Juzang (#33)
Dontaie Allen (#111)

Matthews was top 20 when he committed if I remember correctly.

Good memory. According to 247, Charles Matthews was ranked as high as #7 in late June of 2013. When he committed to Kentucky in February of 2014, he was still ranked #12. His standing took a big hit that summer due to some injury issues, dropping out of the Top 50 altogether by September.

That article is from today but there is old information in it.  The school breakdowns were from earlier this summer.

I'll look around to find the Marquette offer.

It's almost like rankings are a snap shot in time and change quite a bit from year to year.. ....

So you evaluate......based on talent, character, coachablity.... and go after guys that fit your culture and who you think you can get......and then live with the results.

That would push us to the current #1, just ahead of Kentucky according to their class calculator. But we wouldn't stay that way once all the 5 stars committed. I would guess that a class like that would be towards the back of the top 10.

It would be higher than that!  Look at past classes after duke kentucky unc and kansas no one signs 4 top 100s in a yr
My guess would be top 6

Yes indeed. Maybe on the heels of the FBI investigations this should be expected. Cal may be playing straight while it appears Self and Miller seem to be pushing all their chips in. Calipari, while not my favorite, always struck me as smart; guys like Self and Miller (and Izzo) not so much.

@jakeweingarten: Xavier's Travis Steele, Butler's LaVall Jordan, and Marquette assistant went to watch four-star basketball recruit Luke Goode tonight... in Football, a source told @Stockrisers.

Goode is a two-sport athlete.

Seriously, what's the scoop on him. Is he a DI football prospect too?
