Gotta like this start to the class. If we land Suggs, Steward, Burnett, or Davis to pair with him, the class is already a win. Hopefully his commitment won't interfere with Garcia, Sinley, or Ighodaro.

Awesome to hear that Lewis was sold on Marquette right after leaving campus in June - I was as hard on Wojo as anyone in April but it's encouraging to hear we still have that "wow" factor with some of the hottest recruits in the country.

Just mulling around Rivals and 247 after the commit, Corey Evans is pretty bullish on Marquette's potential 2020 class: in his article he said something to the effect of "the first commit in what could be a special class for Wojo".  In it he mentioned us linked with Burnett, Bridges, Sibley, Davis, etc.  I don't think to check Rivals often but he did pick R.J. Davis to us back in late June: pretty sure that was before some of the blue bloods got in the mix.

As far as the bolded portion, Mark Miller picked Sibley to Iowa State immediately after Justin Lewis committed.  Maybe he feels that Justin Lewis got the "first come-first serve" 4-star PF spot and that Sibley would be too redundant?  We would all rather have Garcia, but I would love either a Lewis/Garcia or Lewis/Sibley pairing if it came down to it.  Bring in as many talented guys as possible and let the rest play out.  Who knows, but really pumped about this start.  Land a couple of Garcia, Suggs, Burnett, Jackson, Bridges, Davis to go with Lewis/Torrence already in-house and our recent recruiting is awfully exciting.

Just to knock a few off of the list...Caleb Love is expected to trim his list by the end of the week to a half dozen or so. Kansas, Louisville, and North Carolina are all expected to make that cut, as well as possibly Mizzou. We'll see.

That list was the 18 players at the Team USA camp from the 2020 class, not a list of Marquette targets.

Scroll down to end reference Bridges recruiting chances for MU.

While we were all happy for Nelson to finally get a head coaching gig, would be a serious bummer if him taking a super late, out-of-the-blue job opening resulted in the first legit prospect he was pulling in for us saying no to MU.  Definitely need Stan and Killings to pull the weight for the 2020 class.

Yes I am aware this is a USA basketball camp list. Caleb Love is a former MU target.

Did you mean for the front page list? Because I don't think Love narrowing his list will get him kicked out of Team USA camp  ;D

Do I have that correct?  Is it now 3, possible 4 scholarships for '20 depending on the one for this September?

Huh? I mentioned that a former MU target is expected to cut his college list this week.  He was included in your USA basketball camp list that highlighted some MU targets in bold. Seems simple enough to understand.

At the moment, we have 4 open scholarships for 2020:

Seniors (3): Theo John, Jamal Cain, Koby McEwen
Juniors (2): Brenden Bailey, Greg Elliott
Sophomores (3): Ike Eke*, Dexter Akanno, Symir Torrence
Freshmen (1): Justin Lewis

I actually think Eke would be considered a RS Junior, but having missed two consecutive years with effectively the same injury (he never recovered to play) he would be a good candidate for a 6th year of eligibility. Unless I'm forgetting someone.

Dont believe i have seen any obsession with you on this board.  Just that a huge percentage of the board thinks you are an absolute D-bag.  Which you seem to own, so why the issue?

I just hope that, unlike Sacar and Luke, JL isn't one of the worst players in basketball history. According to you, anyway.

And that explains why Mark Miller changed his Sibley pick from MU to Iowa State today...

Congrats ta Woj. Know green wienie dis tyme. Maebee da corner iz beein' turned, hey?

Hang in there, Doc. Given that every coach not named Krzyzewski has far more misses than hits, you'll have plenty more chances to celebrate Wojo's recruiting "failures."

Does ISU have inroads at Oak Hill? What's the connection? - notes this is an honest question, just looking for insight :)

Yep.  Although I'm still trying to be 'officially correct'. One open September '19; three September '20.  But we're on the same page.

ISU has had good connections in Wisconsin, which extend past TJO since they landed Halliburton last year. My guess is that being out of Milwaukee will just open up his recruitment a bit more, and possibly that the addition of Justin Lewis who projects as a 3/4 may lead Sibley, who's probably more a 4, to look elsewhere. I'm still a big fan of Sibley and would love him in the 2020 class, not just for ability but also the attitude and willingness to take social media shots at UW-Madison.

For recruiting purposes, with respect to Sibley, the coaching staff is going to have show him a realistic path to playing time at the 3 postion in addition to the 4 position.

Myles Stute and Desmond Polk seem like fine young men.  Don't want either of them.  Just not the type of players that change games.  Need a few more top 100 guys. I realize it's a lot to ask but I'm hopeful.
