Need to focus on James Bishop now. The second coming of DJO.

Could be. He definitely seems like the remaining recruit we are in best position with. I would like a clearer picture on where we stand with Watts. He has a chance to be the second coming of DJO but better. Like you've said Herman, you can't go wrong if you're pulling the best kids out of Detroit.

Watts is fantastic we just need to get him for an official. Hopefully some of the other schools he is looking at take some commitments.

Right now we are in the red zone with Bishop. Let’s get it over the goal line.

I personally hope the remaining scholarship will be banked for the spring.  Not saying Bishop or Watts aren't very good options.  Think we are fine at guard until the 2020 class.

Sounds good to me.  Bank it.

You’d rather bank the schollie than take Watts?!? Come on.

Yep, I think we're OK with our guards, that schollie is not burning a hole in my pocket.  I'll save it for a better need or better talent as it present itself.  Only my opinion but I like that option and also respects that TedBaxter mention it first.

Watts is a borderline 5-star. Bishop has elite scoring ability. I'll take best player available.

This implies that you would use the scholarship no matter what. I would take continue to pursue the players they have been pursing, but bank the scholarship if we do not get one of these.

I'm not implying anything other than I would gladly take Watts, Bishop, and Lundy.

Rocket Watts cancelled Missouri official. Had positive  visit at FSU. Going on official to Louisville.

Interesting.  Also MU note:  Former MU targets EJ Liddell and Mario Mckinney visited Mizzou together. Liddell narrowed his list to Ohio St., Mizzou, Illinois. Mckinney, as many know is the cousin of former popular Mizzou guard Jimmy Mckinney.

Liddell had zero interest in any school besides Mizzou or Illinois. Everything else was just a courtesy. Though Ohio St. is an interesting player.

Recruiting has become a bit more difficult for Marquette this off season because we no longer can promise minutes, like years past. Recruits either want to be part of a NCAA tourney team, or get lots of minutes day one. Wojo has his guys in his system. No we just need to win!!

It must be nice to have a budget that never ends,  Stan should just get an apartment out West.  Is MU that good to recruit the nation?  Need to start winning
so they can win some of the recruiting battles, that would help.

Yep. And it's not just at one position. 2019-20 looks stacked again on paper *as of today*. Makes the sell to most kids tough.

Wojo & Co. have won plenty of recruiting battles, including some talented kids from out West. Aside from a handful of blueblood and near-blueblood coaches, most would happily take Wojo's recruiting record -- and even a few of them would happily take a few of the kids Wojo landed. (Indeed, a few tried to take them.)

Our coaches have lost some battles, too.

Wojo will have to thank Stan for his connections on Howard and Bailey.  Sometimes recruiting the right assistant is a big part of the battle.  He did that.  Stan seems
to be awesome for the program.  Being involved with 5 Star athletes out of the immediate 5 State area, is a challenge.  Getting into the Top 2 even tougher.  Like to
see Wojo get some Balitimore kids if possible since he must be a legend in that area.   Bishop would be a start but I am really happy with what they have with 12 kids
next year already.  Bigger question will they all stay?  Hope so.  When they lose the 4 juniors who all will play, then it is a must to get some Top 100 kids.

Based on Wojo's record to date, it seems clear he feels it's essential to recruit nationally. He's brought in almost a dozen players from outside Wisconsin and the Midwest:

2014-15
Matt Carlino (BYU/Bloomington, IN)

2015-16
Haanif Cheatham (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Traci Carter (Philadelphia, PA)

2016-17
Katin Reinhardt (USC/Santa Ana, CA)
Andrew Rowsey (UNC-Ashville/Lexington, VA)
Markus Howard (Chandler, AZ)

2017-18
Harry Froling (SMU/Townsville, AU)

2018-19
Joseph Chartouny (Fordham/Montreal, QC)
Brendan Bailey (American Fork, UT)

2019-20
Dexter Akanno (Valencia, CA)
Koby McEwen (Utah State/Toronto, ON)
