#36 Julian Stawther (recently visited)
#37 Daishen Nix
#38 Jabri Abdur-Rahim
#40 Caleb Love
#42 Nimari Burnett (recently visited)
#43 Dain Dainja (recently visited)
#49 Symir Torrence
#55 Cam'Ron Fletcher
#56 Ethan Morton
#59 Jaylen Clark
#64 DJ Steward
#66 Bryce Thompson (recently visited)
#72 Zeb Jackson
#76 Justin Lewis (recently visited)
#77 Isaiah Cottrell (recently visited)
#85 Lynn Greer III

#106 Richie Springs
#108 Jamari Sibley
#120 Reece Beekman
#132 Desmond Polk
UR Niels Lane
UR RJ Davis

Hard to tell who the real candidates are at this point. Got to fill a lot of schollies this season. Could use a big year on the court to help sell the pitch.

Hopefully they wait till late to make decisions that way when we win back to back titles we can replace Howard, Hauser Ed and Anim with all top 25 talent.

I don't know. He did spend two spells in the NBA that year. Would a year at MU somehow have provided better coaching than the NBADL & NBA? I doubt it.

The problem is Vander was a 6'3" SG who didn't have Dwyane Wade's raw ability. The only way he becomes a NBA player is by becoming a point guard. I'm not sure that even a year at the point at MU would've changed his trajectory much.

I think of Dwight Buycks, who played some PG at Marquette but needed years of refinement in Europe to develop to NBA level, and just on the fringes at that.

It wasn't just Blue's shooting but his entire style of play that needed to change to make him a NBA player. I don't think that would've happened here any more than it would've in the NBADL.
What I am saying is that he comes back now and spends  a summer at the shooting academy.  He would be around people who have a vested interest in seeing him succeed. My view is that if Vander could be more like a 40 percent shooter from 3 he may get that one final look in the league.

I agree his slashing and get to the free throw line style of play  is not really in vogue.

Looks like we are banking the other scholarship until the spring .

Don't think Watts is in play.......Lundy isn't really a need

Do not need the 13th player next year, but really will need to have a good 2019 class, with losing 4 potential starters.  Sort of a strike out this year, guess the coaches regroup and figure out to get some of the Top 100 players next year.  It will be easier to sell next year if they get some of these kids into see the new
Forum.

James Bishop makes it official . He is going to LSU

LSU put everything that they had into this recruitment. Seems like they had the key relationship with the brother.

Wow, one this morning. That's funny.

Wow, some sites are slow to update!

The only time Verbal Commits updates is when players release their cutdown lists. Other sites never update other than to indicate that a recruit committed. Pretty much once you are mentioned with a player once you are listed on their page forever.

From Rivals

Marquette came up with the commitment of Dexter Akanno earlier this month, and while that did not receive a ton of fanfare, I do approve of the Golden Eagles’ win on the recruiting trail. He entered July with just two scholarship offers, and none coming from a high-major program. Regardless, he is the type of guard that Marquette has been lacking in recent years. Offensive firepower has remained, but defensively the Golden Eagles have struggled. That aspect of their game should be improved immediately with Akanno on hand next year.

Look at him as a Marcus Smart-type of guard: tough, competitive, well-built and a big-time defender that wants to do the dirty work. He just missed the new Rivals150 last week, but was given a ranking in the top-50 at his shooting guard position. He should continue to garner positive marks as he enters his prep year at Blair Academy this fall.

Wojo in to see Symir Torrence

One thing about Wojo, they really are out recruiting all the time.  I do think Stan might as well set up camp on the West Coast.

Setting a temporary camp is fine, the problem will come when Stan lands a HC job out west in UT, AZ, or CA.
That trail may get mighty dusty at that point.

Wojo was recruiting well pre-Stan.  I'm sure he would fine an adequate replacement.
